i watch us devolving
into the ignorance of the dark ages
as millions who should know better
embrace every lie & fairytale
the hucksters sell
i wonder how long it will be before those of us who know better
are openly persecuted
for speaking what we know to be truth

Good afternoon and thanks to all who read/shared last night’s #shorty. Just dropping in for a minute. Going to be riding for a while. See you later. #StaySafeBeWell
That wasn’t riding, it was writing. *sigh* My old phone spoke English as a second language, and it appears the new one does too.

This what Germany did when they finally read themselves of the cancer of Hitler's Nazism. It's a decent blueprint for what we're going to have to do once Trump is burning in hell.
Denazification was a multi-pronged Allied effort to rid German and Austrian society of Nazi ideology.
Arrests and internment: Active Nazis, functionaries, and members of organizations like the SS were automatically arrested and detained in internment camps.
Removal from office: Allies purged Nazis and their supporters from positions of power in government, education, the judiciary, and the economy.
Amnesty: Overwhelmed by the sheer number of Germans to be processed, the Western Allies later scaled back denazification and transferred responsibility to German-run tribunals. Many lesser offenders were amnestied and reintegrated into society.
Purging Nazi materials: Books, propaganda, and other media that promoted Nazism were confiscated and destroyed.
Changing names and symbols: Nazi street names, monuments, and symbols like the swastika were removed from the public sphere.
Prosecution and justice
The most high-profile trials for Nazi war criminals were the Nuremberg Trials, but the pursuit of justice has continued for decades.
Nuremberg Trials: High-ranking Nazis were prosecuted for crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
Continuing investigations: The German government and independent investigators continue to search for and prosecute remaining Nazi war criminals
Frankfurt Auschwitz Trial: A landmark trial in the 1960s brought to justice former Auschwitz personnel who had evaded punishment after the war.
Late prosecutions: Modern precedents allow for the conviction of former concentration camp guards based on their complicity in mass murder, even without proof of a specific crime.
Reparations and reconciliation
Germany has paid tens of billions of dollars in restitution and reparations to Holocaust victims and their heirs.
Financial compensation: Payments have gone to Israel, individual Holocaust survivors, and their heirs.
Seized property: Germany has returned thousands of stolen objects, including artwork and books, to the families of Holocaust victims.
Home care: As survivors have aged, Germany has increased payments specifically for home care services.
Citizenship: Descendants of Nazi persecution victims who were deprived of German nationality can now reclaim their citizenship.
Public memory and education
Germany has actively promoted education and remembrance to ensure that the Nazi era and the Holocaust are not forgotten.
This is going to be a long tweet, and it’s not new news, but it’s new news to me, and I think it’s especially important for everyone, and especially those of you who support

But when you put all these events together, a clear pattern emerges. At the very least, Trump has a history of playing into people’s racism to bolster himself — and that likely says something about him, too.
And, of course, there’s everything that’s happened through and since his… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
A priest went to see his Bishop and asks if he would hear his confession
“Of course,” the Bishop said and took out his rosary. “And what do you have to confess?”
“Well Your Grace I used profane language,” the priest said, shifting a bit in obvious embarrassment.
“I understand,” the Bishop said. “And under what circumstance did you use the profanity?”
“Well, Your Grace, I was playing golf and I stepped up to the tee on a par four and I hit what is probably the best drive of my life. Long and straight as an arrow,” the priest replied.
“Well surely there was no cause to blaspheme then?” the Bishop said with a frown.
“Well no,” the priest said, “but as it flew down the fairway it hit an overhead wire and dropped down only a hundred yards away.”
“Ah,” said the Bishop. “So that’s when you blasphemed.”
A truck driver and his pet parrot were hauling a load of chickens. He stopped to pick up an attractive hitchhiker, swung the door open and asked, "You want a lift?" “Yes, thank you!" she said and started to climb in when the parrot exclaimed, “Wanna fuck?"
“No!” she answered and the parrot screeched, “No fuck no ride!" and fluttered like crazy, scaring the hitchhiker off.
The truck driver was appalled. He told the parrot he should be ashamed of himself and not to let it happen again. The parrot squawked his call of agreement and nodded his head.
Pope Francis knocked on Heaven’s gate after his death. Saint Peter opened the door, looked at him and said, “Welcome to life after death. What is your name?" The Pope, slightly irritated, answered, “I am the pope." "Pope who?"Peter asked.
“Pope Francis! You should know who I am!" the pope snapped. Peter looked in his book and said, "Hmm, I can't find a Francis Pope in here. Are you sure you’re at the right place?" The pope replied, "This must be a misunderstanding. I am the pope, god's representative on earth!"
Peter said, “Oh. I'm not aware the boss sent somebody down to earth to represent him. Please wait a minute, I'm going to talk to him."
