#Thread on the lies of UP Police & Delhi Police to cover up Hathras rape case.

At 10:50 pm, Delhi Police told me that family was not on dharna. It turned out to be a lie. Victim's brother confirmed the family was on dharna. 👇

At ~2:25 am, UP Police told me cremation would be done at a time & place of family's choosing. It was a lie. At 2:30 am, she was cremated against family's wishes. The poor family has confirmed this morning that it was done against their wish 👇

It's clear that family protested. Hathras victim's father & mother were NOT allowed to be present while their daughter was cremated. They wanted to take her home. Top UP officials & cops denied them this on DIRECTIONS FROM THE TOP. In a democracy, this calls for a resignation 👇
From body language of top officials, from the lies spread & from the attempts to cover up, it is clear that directions came from top. Your family could be next. If you are an honest Journalist, if you are an honest PM, if you are an honest citizen, demand/ensure #YogiMustResign
This is what UP Polic told me at 2:25 am. 5 minutes later, it turned out to be a lie. And the way entire machinery- SDM, ADM, DM, Circle officer, collector- was deployed to ensure night cremation, it clearly shows directions came from top.
