The first step in solving a problem is to understand it

Look deeply at the whole system/team rather than individual parts

Map the issues visually, see how the system/team works together.

Step 2: Track the system/team

When thinking about a problem, we are influenced by the current situation

This can affect the analysis

Most problems should follow a time curve

Showing it as a one-off or reoccurring issue

All issues should be tracked with time before acting.

The Stoics dividing virtue into four main types:

Wisdom, Justice, Courage, and Moderation.

Wisdom is subdivided into good sense, good calculation, quick-wittedness, discretion, and resourcefulness.

Justice is subdivided into piety, honesty, equity, and fair dealing.

Courage is subdivided into endurance, confidence, high-mindedness, cheerfulness, and industriousness.

Moderation is subdivided into good discipline, seemliness, modesty, and self-control.

You don't know where to start so you start by reading philosophy

Now imagine seeing yourself working each day to be better

You read Stociosm and begin to practice the ideas in your day-to-day

But you have not had your new systems and ideas tested yet

Then one day at work your boss tells the whole team about a serious issue that might lead to a contract being lost

This is when you step up

The rest of the team and your boss are panicking

From reading the Stoics you understand what you can and cannot control

The internal vs the external

You control your emotions and reactions and bring solutions

You see how you can help and bring a sense of calm to the room

Your boss soon reflects your calm energy and you work with them
on a plan

This results in more key projects coming your way
