3/ And I’ll never vote for a candidate or party who thinks there’s an acceptable number of people killed by police, jailed at our border, jailed for victimless crimes inside our own country, or who die from lack of affordable health insurance/care.

Police abuse of power is a subject I’ve been passionate about for over a decade. Some people are just now waking up to it, so I'm here to help.
It's time for a (long) thread to explain why police are allowed to kill and abuse civilians with near-impunity in our country:
2/ We don’t know the actual number of civilians killed by police because it’s not even tracked by the Department of Justice/FBI. They track civilian homicides, and officer homicides, but not when a cop kills one of us. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/w…
3/ Between 2015-2016, the FBI & Bureau of Justice Statistics actually extrapolated what they believed to be a realistic number. They found “*at least* 1900 Arrest-Related Deaths (ARD)” occur per year. That’s more than 36 every *week*.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
We have a plan to defeat this partisan duopoly that has failed us for decades. The basics are in the attached graphic. @AicilaLewis is the systems person that’s key to this coming together. Follow her. Together, we're going to change the world. #CoxsArmy

Despite the need for (and the public support behind) drastic change to how our government operates, nothing changes simply because the status quo works perfectly for the Democratic & Republican Parties, & the lobbyists who fund them. But the status quo doesn’t work for *us*.

But we have a plan, and a clear path forward. We can fix it. And we must. This is lengthy, but we’re mostly stuck at home right now anyway, right? So grab a cup of coffee or tea and give me 5 minutes of your time. I promise it’ll be worth it.
The stock market has been overinflated since Obama was in office. It’s a massive bubble. It’s going to burst, not because I want it to, but because it must reflect some sort of reality.
They’ll blame the crash on Bernie’s momentum or presidency (depending on when it comes)...
1/
But that won’t be true. (Shocker.)
But here’s some truth:
A Bernie Sanders presidency is our *only* way to prevent Wall Street from being bailed out again when this all comes crumbling down once more.
Every other candidate will bail them out again.
2/
Bernie will let them die and bail *us* out instead. Which is what should’ve happened in 2008. It would’ve cost us less money and improved the economy much faster with far less pain and suffering for regular people.
3/
Regarding parties/politicians, here’s a universal truth:
The only people who want free & fair elections are those who benefit from free & fair elections.
Nobody should be asked to (or shamed into) trusting any voting system. Properly designed electoral systems are trustless.
1/
Trust isn’t required of properly designed electoral systems. If a system *can* be cheated, it *will* be cheated.
Trustless systems are designed to be transparent, inclusive, and neutral.
Any time a system is made more opaque, more exclusive, or more biased, it’s shenanigans.
2/
Tactics for exclusivity:
Purging voter rolls
Voter ID laws (at least where those IDs cost money)
Closed primaries
Caucuses
Banning felons/prisoners from voting
Overloading polling places by having too few of them
Etc.
