This REALLY looks like a back to school story, esp for women.
Job losses in September wiped out all the July and August job gains for married people, while non-married people, particularly men, have opened a huge gap.
Caveats:
1)Doing marriage b/c no mothers & fathers yet (it’s coming), so child care story != perfect match
2)So much in September, hoping it’s driven by seasonal adjustment (which is v hard rn)
3)These are household survey data, so don’t line up w/ payrolls #s

Alternatively, you can look at (total) government employment, which was lower when Obama left office than when he took over, but has increased since Trump took office. Again, state & local gov plays a large role here.
