Look I know my prattling on about the steady march of fascism in the federal judiciary is probably growing tiresome BUT I AM WHO I AM AND IT IS WHAT IT IS

I mean not to flex but I picked a fight with NARAL over their refusal to score the Michael Boggs nomination and there are like 7 of you who understand why that would matter 😂
All of which is to say Democrats are terrible at politics and the courts and this is not a new story
BUT! It doesn't have to be this way. If ever there was a reason to get good about politics and the courts NOW IS IT

So. I've been following Mike Pence's career for well over a decade now. I have two books where his anti-choice policies feature prominently! Some might say I have a *thing* for Mike Pence. And they wouldn't be wrong and we can all talk about that later. FOR NOW I'LL SAY THIS
This is a man who has built an entire career around enshrining his specific religious world view on the rest of us.

He wants to prosecute you if you don't deliver a healthy baby to the state

He will try and "pray the gay away" out of you which is euphamistic violence
And when given a chance to loudly and proudly proclaim these beliefs to the rest of the country he punted. He and other evangelicals don't actually have the courage of their convictions.

They are cowards.

2020 has generally been hot garbage but a real joy tonight was learning how many of you tracked with me in bungling my Mike Pence = energy vampire = Colin Peterson = Colin Robinson joke.

Y'all were picking up what I was putting down and it makes my nerd heart sing
Also giving myself the grace that maybe the best joke was in the bugling because they're all Colin's anyway 🤣

The GOP has literally never had a health care plan beyond let corporations profit and individuals suffer. They've spent millions in attorneys fees defending that position while millions campaigning the other direction. IT IS ALL A GRIFT YET HERE WE ARE
Fun fact one of my earlier jobs back when I was an academic and before I was a journalist was tracking the ACA in committee and through to passage.

Let me tell you there was never a Republican plan
My first published pieces were all about explaining what the ACA *might* be; what it *could* be and what it *ended up* being.
