Applications for the Registrar General’s consent approved or denied with reasons for denial will now be
regularly published on the Corporate Affairs Commission’s website to properly guide customers.

Abubakar who gave the commitment today during a
2hr online engagement with the Chairman NBA presidential Taskforce on Corporate Affairs Commission, Mr.
Ayuli Jemide and his team said upon consent approval customers will no longer be required to pay

for name
search.
During the engagement, it was resolved that the CAC will revisit its earlier decision on closure of manual
searches by customers but only on special circumstances and at a higher cost with strict supervision to guard against

pilferage of the Commission’s documents.
On the barrage of complaints about alleged poor customer service being rendered by Lagos Island office
of the CAC, the RG assured that the matter will be swiftly investigated in order to ameliorate their

challenges and also mandated the the NBA team to freely undertake a visit to the said office to further assess the situation.
The Chairman of the NBA Presidential Task Force on the CAC, Ayuli Jemide expressed optimism that the recent reform initiatives of

the Commission was the forward and thanked the RG for granting them audience inspite of his overladen schedule.
It will be recalled that the NBA President, Olumide Akpata had on the 24th of September,2020 constituted an Eight-man Committee

under the leadership of Ayuli Jemide, Chairman NBA Section on Business Law to engage with the CAC with a view to addressing challenges of lawyers amidst Covid-19 regulations.
