The young man standing with me in this photo is Promise Etete. He was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force in Uyo on Tuesday on the instigation of a member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr. Uduak Odudoh. 
He arrested him for constantly criticising him and for always calling for good governance, better representation and development in his community and Constituency. You can confirm this by checking the Facebook posts of the young man.
Promise was detained and arraigned in court on Thursday on charges of "threat to life" and "defamation". He only regained freedom today after perfecting his bail conditions.

Mr. Uduak Odudoh, a man paid with tax payers' money and public funds, has decided to instigate the police to file criminal charges against his constituent for demanding good governance. He should allow the court to hear and determine the case.
Nobody is going to apologize to him. He should stop demanding for what he now knows he will not get. At the appropriate time, our law firm will demand compensation and public apology from him in court for what he has put this outspoken young man through.
Is it not ludicrous that Mr. Odudoh, the member representing Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly also accused Promise of "impersonation" for adding the prefix and appellation "Rt Hon" to his name on Facebook?.
What a laughable accusation. If I decide to change my Facebook name to "Governor Inibehe Effiong", will anyone accuse me of impersonation?
Politicians in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria should realize that the days of using security agencies to harass and intimidate their critics without being challenged are over.
