Jamie Harrison, in what is now a SC candidate forum, and not debate, lauds GOP Sens. Collins, Cornyn, and VP Pence for "being responsible” and getting tested for COVID, while Lindsey Graham "thinks he’s special enough that he can’t"
Harrison says he supports a national mask mandate, adding that Mitch McConnell may feel the same way because "he won't go over to the White House" over their lax coronavirus protocols
Harrison: "Lindsey Graham said, 'Use my words against me, we should not be considering a justice in the fourth year of an election year' and that he would not vote for such justice...what is the word of Lindsey Graham worth?"
Weird situation in SC with Graham appearing in same studio minutes after Harrison
Graham laments historic wave of cash rolling in against his re-election.
"I voted for Sotomayor and Kagan and every liberal applauded, 'Oh, we love Lindsey Graham,'" he says
"If Chuck Schumer were in charge, he’d be doing the same thing,” Graham says after moderators play clip of him saying in 2016 he wouldn’t confirm a Supreme Court justice in an election year
"I don't know how you enforce it. Who enforces it? Does the FBI follow us all around? I believe in responsibility," Graham says when asked if he supports a national mask mandate, urging people to wear a mask
Graham's argument against Democrats winning the Senate is who is next in line to become the chairman of the Budget Committee: him or Bernie.
"There's a big difference when it comes to me and Bernie Sanders when it comes to your money. Vote for me."
"I'm willing to do almost $2 trillion," Graham says of another coronavirus relief package
"I accept that ruling," Graham says of the Supreme Court's ruling legalizing gay marriage.
"I've tried to be tolerant. I've tried to understand people have different life experiences...the law of the land is that same-sex marriage is legal and I will honor that."
Graham touts his bill with Bill Cassidy in this SC candidate forum as an alternative to the ACA.
"We're not going to take away preexisting conditions [protections] from anybody. That makes no sense"
Experts say the bill would allow insurers to charge sick people higher premiums

Trump says he’s going to sign an executive order extending added federal unemployment benefits at $400 per week. Dems have been pushing to extend at $600/ week
After months of Republican arguments about added unemployment benefits disincentivizing work, preferring instead a wage replacement formula, Trump signs EO extending it at flat 400 for rest of the year. Wonder if any GOP lawmakers push back ...
“He expressed his opinion and it was very powerful and it was a stunning letter.”
Did you agree with him?
“He’s an American patriot with extraordinary service and sacrifice and great judgement.”
Ernst declined to comment.
“I respect Gen. Mattis, I’m the son of a Marine myself, it’s just a very difficult moment here. We need the states, local governments, to ensure they are protecting the safety of people and property,” Daines says
Rand Paul has his question card ready, laying on top of his desk. It’s typed. He was reading it before Senate came into session. Lankford came over and talked to him for a while as senators were making their way in.
Roberts declines to read Paul’s question. He looked over at Paul, who sat motionless and then immediately walked out of the chamber.
McConnell started to get up after Roberts declined the question, but sat down.
Lots of Republicans were staring at Paul as he submited his question.
Mike Lee calls Iran briefing “probably the worst briefing at least on a military issue I’ve seen,” adding that it was “insulting” to be told by administration officials not to debate merits of taking military action
A ticked off Mike Lee says the Iran briefing was so bad it changed his mind on Kaine’s war powers resolution, and now he’s going to support it
Rand Paul echoes Lee and calls instructions by administration not to debate military action “particularly insulting.”
“I think we need to debate the separation of powers,” he adds
Va. Sens. Warner and Kaine say the Pentagon has informed them it plans to raid funds for these military projects in their state to build Trump’s wall
here’s a thought bubble: If the Pentagon has suddenly decided it doesn’t need to fund projects it has previously deemed critical, maybe, uhhh, it is time to be more skeptical of future requests to increase their insanely massive budget?
Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting for a press release from a Republican member of Congress announcing how much military funding the Trump administration is taking away from their district/state
