We all have mental mental health, and we all have things we struggle with
Our experiences are unique to each of us, but it’s a human experience, which is universal. We all experience a different version of the same thing.
Having perspective helps. Prioritize self care daily. Take a moment to take a breath.
We all have choice. Take control of your online experience. In the same way we’re careful of our nutrition for the sake of our physical health, we should be selective about what we feed our eyes and minds, for the sake of our mental health.
Talk about it. Vulnerability is not a weakness. Check in on your friends. Go beyond the “text-like” nature of conversation and get in-depth.
Stigma thrives in silence. Talking about mental health makes it progressively easier to talk about. Talking about your experiences and challenges helps you find connection and build community and support.
It takes a certain amount of bravery to “go there”. People don’t want to burden others, and refrain from sharing. But it’s worth it to find a balance.
Reframe the concept of burdening other. Eg , I just need you to hold this with me for a moment. I don’t need you to take it on. That assistance could just be listening.
People don’t have to have an answer. A listening ear is enough. Reach out, because in your moment of difficulty you can break through or breakdown. Take the opportunity to break through. ❤️
This was such an awesome, wholesome and much needed conversation. We highly recommend it. Thank you Gael, Kayla, Thomas, Meghan and “Big H”😊
