“A Man of Evident Splendor” – Description of The Prophet ﷺ by Umm Ma’bad, :
Her name was 'Aatikah bint Khaalid' & 'Umm Ma’bad' was her nick name.Her name is connected to one of the greatest event in the Prophet ﷺ’s life, the Hijrah from Makkah to Madeenah
She was a famous, chaste, strong and courageous woman and had a camp in "Qudayd". She would sit down in the courtyard of her camp wrapped-up in her garment, generously providing food and drink to the travelers who passed by.
During the hijrah of the Prophet ﷺ, he stopped by her tent with his companions for some rest and food.
“It was narrated that the Messenger ﷺ, his servant, a guide and Abu Bakr R.A left Mecca, passing a tent of an elderly lady called Umm Ma’bad.
She would sit close to the tent & would give food & drink to travelers. So they asked her if they could buy some meat or dates from her but she could not find anything.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked towards a sheep next to the tent.They had run out of provisions & were hungry
The Prophet ﷺ asked her, What is wrong with this sheep, Umm Ma’bad?
She replied,“The sheep is fatigued and is weaker than the other sheep.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,“Does it milk?”
She replied,“I swear by your mother and father,if I saw milk from it then I would milk it”
The Prophet ﷺ called the sheep and moved his hand over its udder; he pronounced the name of Allah and praised him. Then he called Umm Ma’bad when the sheep steadied its feet and its udder filled. He asked for a large container and milked it until it was filled.
The lady drank until full, his companions (meaning satisfied) drank until full, then the others drank. Then it was milked for a second time until the container was full and they left her and continued on their journey.
After a short while, the partner of the lady (Abu Ma’bad) returned from herding goats that were swaying from weakness. He saw the milk and said to his wife, “Where did you get this milk from, dear Umm Ma’bad. The sheep is single and there is no milk in the house!”
She replied, “I swear by God, a blessed man came to us today”
Abu Ma’bad said, “Describe him to me.”
She then began her description about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ :

لا تقحمه عينمن قِصَر، ولا تشنؤه من طول، غُصْن بين غُصْنَيْن، فهو أنْظَر الثلاثة منظراً، وأحسنهم قدْرًا - His height does not harm and the eye is not taken over by him, a branch between two branches, he is more radiant than them and he is most respected.
له رفقاء يحفون به - his companions would surround him
إذا قال استمعوا لقوله - when he spoke they would listen attentively to his speech
وإذا أمر تبادروا إلى أمره - and if he orders they hasten to it fully
لا عَابِس ولا مُفَنَّد - without frowning or refusing
Umm Ma'bad ends her description if Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by talking about the respect that was shown to him, which only adds to his impressive personality in how the companions would respond.
After listening to Umm Ma'bad, Abu Ma'bad responded as :
I swear by Allah, he is the one Quraysh mentioned to us about his affair in Makkah. I am determined to accompany him; if I could go that way.”
This actually happened. Umm Ma’bad and her husband went to Madeenah, embraced Islaam, swore allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ and stayed in his company as much as possible.
Amr ibn Al Ās R.A when he met the Prophet ﷺ and he returned to Makkah saying that he had visited the courts of Kisrah and Caesar, and he had never seen anyone more beloved or respected than Muhammad ﷺ

The only chapter named after a female or lady in the Quran is Maryam A.S
A chapter named after her is called Surah Maryam (Chapter 19,verses 98). Maryam A.S is also mentioned in the Holy Quran directly by her name 32 times.
@Hadithoftheday Maryam A. S has an entire chapter in the Qur’an named for her — the only chapter in the Qur’an named for a female figure.
The best of women among the people of Paradise are 4 : Khadija , Fatimah bint Muhammad, "Maryam bint ‘Imran", and ‘Asiyah ,the wife of Pharaoh.” -(Hadith)
@Hadithoftheday Surah Nisa is also another chapter of Quran which is named as "The Women". It is fourth chapter of Qur'an and comprises of 176 verses.
"Nisa” in Arabic is “Women.” This Surah is named so because it mainly discusses issues and laws regarding women.
@Hadithoftheday It's said that it would be on Friday but there is no proof about it.Allah knows best
Allah says in Qur'an:
“They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection):When will be its appointed time? Say:The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone).None can reveal its time but He [7:187]
@Hadithoftheday Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The sun has not shone in a day better than Friday. It is the day in which Aadam was created and was descended (to earth), It is the day in which The Hour (Day of Judgement) will take place" (i.e. Friday). - Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood
@Hadithoftheday Abu Huraira reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying:
The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday. - Muslim -1977
@Hadithoftheday Ibraheem A.S.
Angels came to Ibraheem A.S's house as visitors to give Ibrahim A.S and Sarah A.S glad tidings of son who was to be born to them, once the matter had been addressed, angels returned to the subject of Lut’s A.S people.
@Hadithoftheday One day Ibrahim A.S was sitting outside his tent, angels descended to the earth. They came in human shapes and saluted Ibrahim A.S. Ibrahim A.S arose and welcomed them. He took them inside his tent thinking they were strangers and guests.+
@Hadithoftheday He invited his guests to eat & placed before them a sumptuous meal of roasted calf.They were angels & did not eat.The angels gave Sarah glad tidings of the birth of a son, Ishaaq.She could hardly believe the news. As a "barren old woman" the news seemed to her too good to be true
@Hadithoftheday Al-Baqarah (The Cow) - Chapter 2, and Al-Feel (The Elephant) - Chapter 105 of Quran.
Both belong to the family of mammals.
However, An-Nahl (the bees), An-Naml (The Ant), and Al-Ankaboot (The spider) belong to family of insects. But insects come under the family of animalae.😉
@Hadithoftheday There are six chapters in the Quran which are named after animals or insects: 1. Al Baqarah (The Cow)-Chap 2 2. Al An'aam (The Cattle)-Chap 6 3. Al Nahl (The Bees)-Chap 16 4. Al Naml (The Ants)-Chap 27 5. Al Ankabut (The Spider)-Chap 29; & 6. Al Fil (The Elephant)-Chap 105
@Hadithoftheday 1. Surah Baqarah : The title of this surah refers to an argument between Musa A.S and the Israelites over a cow they should sacrifice in order to make known the murder of a slain man.
Story is mentioned in verses between 67-73 of Surah Baqarah.
@Hadithoftheday Ta'if.
When Prophet Muhammad ﷺ went to Ta'if to invite the people of Ta'if to Islam, his companion Zaid ibn Harith R.A was with him.
The people of Taif rejected his message and they set on him a crowd of their teenagers and servants, who chased and stoned him.
@Hadithoftheday Prophet ﷺ's feet were bleeding and he was in a very sorry state. Zaid bin Harith R.A tried hard to defend him and protect him from the stones.
With people jeering at him as his ankles bled, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ran out, finding shelter in an empty orchard.
@Hadithoftheday Prophet Muhammad had lost his two strongest supporters and sources of comfort, his wife, Khadijah R.A,& his uncle, Abu Talib in the particular year.
Without the protection of his uncle, Abu Talib, in Makkah, tortures increased from polythiests and Prophet ﷺ marched towards Taif
@Hadithoftheday Jahannam (Hell).
Allah says in Qur'an regarding "Zaqqum":
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, Will be eating from trees of zaqqum (Surah Waq'ia 56, verse 51-52)
@Hadithoftheday Zaqqum is one of the food of the people of Hell. The other food of the people of hell is "Daree".
Allah says in Qur'an:
Verily the tree of Zaqqum will be the food of the sinful, like molten brass, it will boil in their insides, like the boiling of scalding water.” ( 44:43-46)
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an:
Is that the better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? For We have truly made it a trial for the wrongdoers. For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire. -(Surah Saaffat 37:62-64)
