South Sudan’s civil war has displaced more than two million people. In Bidibidi, the second largest refugee camp in the world, the women sew milayas. Thanks to @milayaproject, you can support these artists directly by buying their beautiful work: milayaproject.org/pages/story
I got a cow wall hanging, which I want to frame even though @NinaStrochlic told me when she showed the artists a picture of one of their framed milayas hanging over a customer’s couch, they burst out laughing. milayaproject.org/pages/story
This project started with @NinaStrochlic’s reporting for @NatGeo. You can read all about the incredible women @milayaproject supports in her original story: www-staging.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/…

Dr. Conley now invoking HIPAA to justify not providing the public with information about President Trump’s health, while holding a press conference to provide the public with information about President Trump’s health.
Dr. Conley says he’s “not going to into specifics about what he is and is not on.” That is the literal purpose of a briefing on the president’s health, to get into specifics about such matters.
Dr. Conley AGAIN refuses to answer the question: when was President Trump’s last negative COVID-19 test?

This “surprise” COVID parade at Walter Reed came more than two hours after the White House called a lid at 3pm today.
WH pool was “not informed of this ahead of time, and we have not been called back to the White House or Walter Reed,” per pooler @alaynatreene.
White House spokesman Judd Deere: "President Trump took a short, last-minute motorcade ride to wave to his supporters outside and has now returned to the Presidential Suite inside Walter Reed."

INBOX: the Trump campaign is hosting a “Call to Prayer” for the president and First Lady tonight.
I’m reminded of a story from Sunday school. I didn’t pay attention in Sunday school any more than I paid attention in regular school, so I may get the details wrong.
The gist was, there was a flood and a guy prayed to God for His intervention. When a helicopter came to save him, he waved it off. He wanted divine help, not a mortal rescue crew. He died. When he saw God, he asked why He didn’t help him. God said, I tried! I sent a helicopter!

This is a very different performance by the president’s doctors. Yesterday, Conley was lawyerly and shifty. Today, he’s answering questions as if he’s not intent on withholding vital information about the president’s health.
Nvm I spoke too soon.
Conley said Meadows was “misconstrued” yesterday when he contradicted his briefing while speaking (initially on background, ie anonymously) to reporters. Conley’s interpretation of what Meadows said is a distortion.
