Here are 5 ways we can begin to decolonize our #Thanksgiving. A THREAD⬇️⬇️⬇️
1. Learn and acknowledge whose land you are on. Learn about the history, the people, and the treaties. Here are a few apps you can check out: whose.land and native-land.ca
2. Read up on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. It's a collection of statements and documents that highlight experiences of survivors affected by the residential school system.

You can learn more at: trc.ca
3. Support small Indigenous businesses! We all spend our economic resources somewhere, why not choose to support Indigenous communities instead? And share some of your favourite businesses ⬇️
4. #Thanksgiving is also an opportunity to talk to your family and friends about the legacy colonization had on Indigenous communities and how it continues to this day.
5. Donate to Indigenous-led organizations that are advocating and organizing for justice.
