@portarican_RT Okay full disclosure? Did I like HRC? No. I thought it would be cool to have a woman president, but I honestly have always thought Bill was sleezy. Still, Trump was WAY worse by far in my eyes. I never thought he'd win, it was a joke, a PR stunt, polls really were wrong... 1/x
@portarican_RT I really didn't pay much attention on election night, sure he would lose. I woke up the next day and had this cold, deep fear I couldn't explain. I knew he was racist, sexist, misogynistic, narcissistic, and probably had crimes in his background, fraud, SEC violations, etc. 2/x
@portarican_RT But I naively figured that if he did, they would have never allowed him to even run, right? Right? If sleezy Bill was impeached for getting a BJ in the Oval, SURELY someone would do something about Trump, I couldn't believe when that audio came out about him grabbing women 3/x
@portarican_RT by the pussy, doing whatever he wanted, I was SURE that would just be the nail on his campaign. when it wasn't, I was horrified. When full realization set in, I thought, well huh, we'll have to deal with a clown, but the REST of the Government will keep him in line, right? 4/x
@portarican_RT The first year... I didn't pay much attention to his stupid rantics and idiocy, to be honest. I just thought 'Just get through this 4 years, SURELY everyone who has a brain will see what a horrid mistake this is, right? RIGHT? Then, in.. the second year I guess? 5/x
@portarican_RT I started seeing some really REALLY shady things reported, started doing my own research into them, not focusing on one network, looking at overseas reports that had no stake in this (I still go to @bbc ) and thinking 'Okay there's no way the republicans will let him get away 5/x
@portarican_RT with any of this, right? I mean, this is blatantly AGAINST the constitution! How can he not even KNOW the very foundation of our country's democracy? They'll do something, right? Of course they will... 6/x
@portarican_RT I grew up in a staunchly Republican household. And while I did NOT vote for Trump, I couldn't vote for Clinton, either, because I didn't respect her, one bit. I didn't think she was evil incarnate or anything, I knew she had the knowledge, easily, I just didn't like her. 7/x
@portarican_RT So, yes I'm very sad to say I'm one of those who didn't vote in 2016. Partly because I did not like EITHER candidate, but mostly because I truly, HONESTLY didn't think there was a chance in HELL he'd win. Honestly. 7/x
@portarican_RT accountable for their actions. That's all gone. It's gone. These folks are just beholden, either monetarily, or via blackmail, or some other reason, to this LITERALLY insane man in the White House, and they have spit on the very oaths they all took. Spit on it, and on us. 9/x
@portarican_RT So, long ass replies later. I'm voting for Biden, for Democrats, because I have re-registered as a democrat (I'm still moderate) because they still BELIEVE in the foundations this country was built upon: By the People. FOR the People. Welcoming to ALL People. DEMOCRACY X/X
@portarican_RT Our country is about immigrants coming to make a life, and all tRump has EVER done is denigrate, belittle, judge, mock, and name call anyone who isn't white. That's just wrong. WRONG. @JoeBiden is kind, he's empathetic, understanding, gentle, considerate, he CARES about others.
@portarican_RT So, I'm sure nobody will ever read all of this, but I've wanted to get it out for a while. Biden is everything this country USED to be. Welcoming, Caring, HONORABLE, Educated, Sympathetic, and decent. And I think, even if the #IdiotInChief weren't here, I'd still vote for Biden.
Dear @JoeBiden, I know you will most likely never see this. I have never, ever donated money to any political issue, party or candidate. But after watching the NBC town hall, where you ANSWERED questions with answers, not lies, not misdirection, but with solutions, REAL (1/x)
... tangible solutions that can be accomplished. You spoke to people about the real problems we are all facing today. Other candidates (*cough @realDonaldTrump *) do not answer, they dance around, change the subject, ignore the question completely, or simply lie. (2/x) @JoeBiden
...You admit when something will be hard, you illustrate what makes you ready to take on hard things, you have empathy, compassion, and understanding. It is because of this, that for the first time ever, I donated to you. Even though I am out of work due to pandemic, (3/x)
