The INDIAN SPORTSPERSON who wanted to started IC Manufacturing.
***************************************************************
Vijay Amritaraj the famous Indian TENNIS STAR of 80s and 90s - and his family founded Sterling Electronics Pvt Ltd in 1980s ( I think 1983) and got the license to manufacture Integrated Circuits (IC) in Hosur, Dharmapuri.
Setup a factory but some reasons the production did not start and the company was in a loss. It however had import license for getting equipment and part of the license was for import of computers for use in R&D.
Amritaraj family was looking to close the company. At the same time, in USA - Osborne was a popular portable computer but the company went bankrupt and had unsold inventory.. with no takers.
A smart maverick businessman - Mr. C.Sivasankaran entered the scene. He bought out Sterling Electronics at a very low price.. and used the license to import Osborne Computers at literally throwaway prices something like flea market rates.
And the Portables sold like hot cake in 1984 & 1985.. - with huges profits - he got into assembling and selling IBM compatible PCs.
in 1985 there were only handful computer companies - HCL, Wipro, IDM, Zenith, Usha, Sunray and Sterling.
PCs (with 2 floppy drive 5.25" - Green Phosporous monitor 80x24 - 80 characters and 24 rows.. - purely text based OS - MSDOS Operating system) were available and PC-XT - with 1/2 floppy drivers and 10/20 MB (yes. mega bytes) - hard disk.
Other companies were selling PCs at a price of - hold your breadth - Rs.1 Lakh and above.
Mr. Sivasankaran company started selling the PCs branded as SIVA PC - at -- again hold your breadth deeply - just Rs.29900/- including taxes. That was sometime in 3rd/4th Quarter of 1985.
And then the whole market changed. It was such a shakeout - and PCs became affordable for LARGER Companies and Medium Size companies..
It is SIVA that is the pioneer of Personal Computers in India - without any R&D Team, just a bunch of employees mostly Diploma holders -
the company bet on low price, quick delivery and large volume and very reliable technology - i.e Screw Driver Technology (just assemble and sell).
I joined Sterling Electronics on 1st June 1986.. and began my journey in IT Industry.
Just imagine - if Vijay Amritaraj had somehow started manufacturing ICs - he would have become one of the richest in the world. Billionaire by several times.
Infact Samsung came into IC manufacturing little later so were few companies in Taiwan - all turned out to be successful
LUCK, KISMAT.. FATE.. DESTINY.. and KARMA.. - all have meaning and exist..
Amritaraj family became US citizens and got into hollywood film distribution and even produced few films.
What happened to C.Sivasankaran. A long and interesting story.. For later...

Aryan-Dravidian propaganda by Christianity-is the sustaing catalyst of casteism in Tamil Nadu
Over five centuries European nations have waged war over many countries and their culture.
The histories of the local culture and as well as their global narratives have been falsified to justify their colonisation.
In 18 th century Europe ,with the decline of the Church influence , were looking for a glorious past, as they could not place the Bible before Constantine
They hoped to find it in India.
In this search for identity, they began to hypothesise and construct an idealised “Aryan race” through distorted reading of Indian scriptures.
Fed by virulent German nationalism, anti-semitism and Race science.
India’s Foreign Contribution Regulation Act ( FRCA ) , which was formed in 1976, is felt by officials as out dated in present day situs. For years India has known that foreign funded organisation have been indulging in subversive activies.
Following Kargil , Shri Vajpayee appointed a group of ministers to review national security system. Observing that foreign funded activities was THE major threat to internal security and realesed in 2001 a revision
It wants Ministry of Home Affaires to monitor to control the flow of funds into the NGOs
Yet taking action against these NGOs has still not been realised cause it was framed as “ religious persecution “ by the global nexus of Christianity operating in India.
Most youngsters born in the 21st century wouldn't even be aware of this brand, let alone trying or using it. But this is a legendary product which ruled the roost throughout the 20th century, and kept all dental ailments at bay.
The origins of it lies in the vision of the Wodeyar Royal Family of Mysore Kingdom who promoted ancient Indian Sciences including Yoga & Ayurveda.
Way back in the 1890s, Wodeyars, as part of their long term plans to revive Hindu traditions,
had established Mysore Ayurvedic College which produced several Practitioners and Entrepreneurs who brought Ayurveda closer to the masses. BV Pundit was one such Scholar who graduated from the very first batch of Mysore Ayurvedic College and
