JOMO KENYATTA SPEECH ON LAND ISSUES ON 1ST JUNE 1966 DIRECTED TO OGINGA ODINGA INDIRECTLY.
"Let me also issue a word of warning to those who might be tempted to carry the law in their own hands and try to take white settled land by force.
My govt will not tolerate such attempts by the malcontents among us who do not want to buy the land. I have already promised that this will not happen and those with such plans will be disappointed. Money will give land to everybody.
The market at its forces will distribute the land to us, including the poor without exception. Anything else smacks of a bloody communist conspiracy of violent land redistribution which my govt will not countenance."
The land redistribution policy was the greater cause of the fallout between jomo Kenyatta and jaramogi oginga odinga. While Odinga wanted the govt to freely give the poor the land, Kenyatta wanted the poor to buy the land. Their stands were based on capitalism and Communism ideas
When the British govt offered the newly independent Kenyan govt money that could be used by the poor to buy land, Kenyatta used the money to buy large tracts of land and gave some money to his political friends who also bought large tracts of land.
Jaramogi Oginga odinga who was offered over 300 acres by Kenyatta at thika for free rejected the offer citing the action as a failure by the govt not living up to its promise of giving the poor their land back. Jaramogi would resign in 1966 to form his own party KPU.

INTRODUCTION
Wagalla town is located in wajir which is in Northern Kenya. Northern Kenya is what was formerly known as the Northern Frontier District (NFP).
At first the colonialists called northern Kenya their protectorate then later a colony.
Much later it became a buffer zone between Kenya and somalia. It was during this time that it was given the operative term "Northern frontier district". Later in the years, legislations were passed by the Parliament to control and isolate NFD further.
The pictures seen below represent the story of betrayal of the maumau fighters. One is a poster that celebrates the killing of fighters (selling fear) Note the title "Atoi" kikuyu word for terrorists,a name that stuck courtesy of anti-mau mau campaign led by chief Waruhiu & Jomo
The other one is a supposed letter by kîmathi to a priest friend on the eve of his execution in 1957
In one of the many letters written by Marshall kîmathi,he is seen warning his brother colonel Wambararia that there were men who were planning to kill him,Kimathi & 2 others.
Kîmathi in the letter asked his brother and the other men to mobilize all forces and be ready for a bloody confrontation with the traitors.
He would later be captured while walking into the forest an event that would be followed by twists and lies.
Did you know apart from the golden handshake between Raila Odinga & Mwai kibaki in 2008 & the March 9th 2019 handshake between Raila Odinga & Uhuru Kenyatta, there was another attempted handshake of 1978 that failed? Why did it fail?

After Kenya gained self rule in 1964, nobody imagined of a bitter divorce between the founding fathers of the nation Mzee jomo Kenyatta and his old friend jaramogi Oginga Odinga. The bitter fallout was caused by several factors that were precipitated by external forces.
Publicly it was known that Jomo and Oginga differed sharply on ideological differences in the line of capitalism and communism respectively. But apart from this there were deep propaganda information fed to Jomo.
The Kedong Massacre of 1895: When The Maasai killed over 600 Men In One Incident. What happened in this day?

In November 1895, the acting commander of Fort Smith (Kikuyu), Thomas Gilkison, dispatched a food caravan of some 1,150 men to Ravine. The men were to replenish supplies needed by the advance railway survey team.
The caravan consisted of about 1,000 Agïküyü porters and 150 swahilis, fifty of them armed with rifles. In those days, for a caravan of that size, a European was expected to be leader.
But this caravan was different. Gilkison appointed a young Swahili man to be in-charge.
On Sunday 2nd march of 1975,the then firebrand legislator for nyandarua North popularly known as J.M kariuki was reported missing. Ten days later his body would be found at the Nairobi city mortuary. Surprisingly, some govt officials all along knew J.M was already dead.
JM knew he was living on borrowed time, before his assassination while playing darts with Nakuru town MP Mark Mwithaga,Nakuru mayor mburu Gichua stormed the hotel & told J.M that "you want to bring trouble to Nakuru, just be warned, your days are numbered,we are going to finish you
Earlier on while in Nairobi, the late G.G kariuki had whispered to J.M kariuki that a secret meeting had taken place in Nakuru and decision to eliminate him by all means was reached. The plan was first to stage a political and security scare then blame it on J.M kariuki.
