General skills you should know before starting in web development

You need these skills to start your web development career.

You don't need these skills to start learning web development.

It's two different things.

Don't confuse them.

In most cases I agree, but these are just beautiful words.

Here's what's wrong with them 👇

”I started my career without knowing these skills”

Survivorship bias, ”I started then you could too”

Here's the truth, you can start but you will struggle to pass any job interview without knowing these skills on a basic level.

You don't need to master it, just fundamentals.

”you only need to know how to google”

There're a million sources where you can learn how GIT works but most of them have unstructured and bad written information.

So if you started to learn on bad resource and another dev on a good one, he/she would learn it 2-4x faster.

Bottom line.

You can start without knowing these skills and struggle to pass job interviews and work with a team

or

You can learn them on a basic level and feel confident and better prepared for real-world projects and jobs.

Everyone who don't know where to start their journey in web dev or doesn't know where to study these skills
