1) FT - “Deaths are published on Wed on the National Board of Health and Welfare website .Doctors send the death certificates in over 3 wks, so there is a significant lag in death reporting.

To Oct 12 total of 5911 deaths reported.

2) Additional information on Sweden.

“Last week in Sweden – a Corona report (5 – 11 Oct) :

A) 5,894 people have now died with Covid-19 in Sweden, a decrease in total fatalities of 1 compared with last week. This isn’t to say there’s been a resurrection, rather during the week..
B) a region made a downwards revision by 12 of their total deaths. It can be more accurately said, then, that 11 fatalities were reported this week, which is a similar number to last week. The total number of Swedish ICU cases has gone largely unchanged, however the number....

Highlights :
1) Slovakia reported 2,075 new daily cases on Friday, has one of the fastest infection rates in Europe;
2) Czech Rep recorded 9,721 new infections , the second consecutive day it posted its worst daily figures;
3) Schools in Italy’s Campania region have closed less than a month after reopening,schools would remain closed until the end of October;
4) Switzerland suffered its worst day for infections again on Friday, having posted its previous worst figure the day before;
5) A court suspended a curfew on Berlin’s bars and restaurants, joining others in Germany in overturning government-imposed measures;
6) Global deaths at 1,096,833 & US cases near 8 M. More than 5K new deaths are being reported daily worldwide;

1) Poland hit a daily record of 6,526 cases on Wednesday,
Poland likely to introduce new restrictions on Thursday;
2) India braces for a surge of COVID-19 cases in coming weeks, as it heads into its main holiday season with an economy freed of virus restrictions;
3) Germany reports a record daily COVID-19 cases, w/6,638 new infections on Thursday, eclipsing March 28th report of 6,294 new cases;
4) Czech Republic reports an all time high for daily Covid cases, recording 9,544 new infections;
5) WHO’s chief scientist has said, due to prioritization, young, healthy people may have to wait until 2022 to be vaccinated for COVID-19;
