Sources : Theni MP OP.Ravindranath, calls the District Collector, SP, Addl. Collector, Sub-Collector, Deputy Supdts. Of Police to his office for a meeting. After consulting with senior officials the district offcials turned down the invitation for meet and categorically 1/n

stated that District Collector is not subordinate to an MP.

As per rules, District Collector is the Nodal Officer and he is answerable only to the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha as the case may be. The powers of an MP ends with his visiting the construction site. 2/n

Nothing more.

For the behaviour of Ravindranath, if a complaint is lodged with Speaker of Lok Sabha, he will be in for huge trouble.

It remains to be seen, whether EPS uses this as a leverage in the ongoing Game of Thrones in ADMK. 3/3

Madras HC, adjourns to 1st October, the corruption case against Local Administration Minister SP Velumani. Today, Senior Counsel NR Elango advanvced arguments on behalf of DMK. He argued about the details of the petition filed before the DVAC, 1/n

Sources : Infighting in the ADMK today reached a feverish pitch and took a communal turn owing to which, to buy time, EC meeting has been called on 28th September 2020. A few members of OPS camp pointed out the domination of Gounders in ADMK. 1/n

Trouble in ADMK : Thread

Sources : OPS & EPS camp may be in for a showdown with regard to the ‘CM candidate’ issue. In a short while, ADMK senior office bearers to meet in ADMK headquarters at Royapettah. 1/n

This meeting was called unilaterally by ADMK’s Chief Coordinator without consulting Joint Coordinator & TN CM Edappadi Palanisamy. What prompted OPS to call for this meeting was posters put up in OPS’s home district Theni by supporters of EPS. 2/n
