So, for those who haven't been following what I've been saying, please take a moment to read this thread.

On my pinned tweet, you will see that I warned of this. I wasn't saying it because of a hunch or a guess, but because history has shown us what happens.

I am warning you that despite everything, it can get worse and we need to be prepared for it.

I don't condone violence, but we must realize that neither trump nor his supporters will shy away from it if they need to in order to take the country from us.

Every single one of us is in charge of securing democracy and our first line of defense is voting.

Please be ready for that wall to crumble, because it will. This is not a hypothetical. This is a historic fact in every dictatorship/autocracy. The best case scenario is that our constitution limps over the deadline, but we are at the inflection point.

We must be prepared.

We have lost our judiciary. Congress is a joke. Our constitution is scoffed at by those pulling the strings. The entire executive office is corrupt down to the individual. There may be good men and women still in government, but they are not in the majority.

Things are as dire as can be and we will be seeing more of this. In fact, we may already be seeing it. Young black men have been hung from trees in violent ways and police are calling it suicide. This is an ongoing phenomenon.

Women are also being targeted with constitutional violations that relegate them to second class citizens, just as removing their voice in reproductive choices. Roe v Wade is only one such attack on women.

Parallel to that are the attacks on the LGBTQ community.

There are other communities being targeted with hatred but they are extremely numerous. race, religion, gender and class are all being discriminated against and this divide and conquer technique is the bread and butter of hostile takeovers.

We see the warnings, don't dismiss them. Don't pretend they can't happen. Keep your eyes open, and your supplies well stocked. For those struggling please make sure to ask for and accept help. Things are going to be rough for a while whether our vote succeeds or fails.

This may sound bleak to many of you, but remember that ultimately, the trumpist viewpoint is the minority opinion of a dying breed. He doesn't represent 40% of America, despite the polls.

He represents maybe 40% of the voting population.

Do not let the next few months deter you, #Resist.

We all knew it could come down to this. We recognized the threat. Don't close your eyes now, don't blink. We can and will win.

One thing that has been universally true is that eventually dictatorships fail, and it's through the people that they do.

So prepare. Have a plan. Most of all, keep your eyes open and use your brain. Learn what you can now, because it's possible they will limit communication.

Most of all, remember why we resist. This is our nation. The land of the free, home of the brave. We fight fascism and we push for democracy.

That ideal lives in our hearts, even if our leadership has confused its meaning and failed to live up to that standard.

We will stand strong. It's our turn to set the standard we believe in.
