When you are governed by a party that has so little understanding and appreciation of artistic culture (especially music) then the outlook for support is particularly grim right now. So it's down to us. Fwiw, here is a list of music I have enjoyed recently.
Vocal led again but waaay weirder. Unsettling and uncomfortable and by the end, it reminds me of Daughters, which is clearly right up my street (The song "Gossip" from this album is well worth listening to as well) lyrapramuk.bandcamp.com/track/xeno
Greek death metal anyone? Really satisfying. Epic, evil and actually carries a decent tune as well. Like being shouted at by a mediterranean butcher....I imagine. katavasia.bandcamp.com/track/chthonic…
In fact, Bandcamp's pick for Metal this month is excellent. The Sumokem album will suit any fan of Isis and Annihilus is absolutely filthy (Described as deconstructionist death metal which makes it sounnd crap. It's rough as badgers and that works for me) daily.bandcamp.com/best-metal/the…
Nicolas Jaar is new to me but I know I'll be going back to this album for further listens. It's really unusual and unique. Almost like Talk Talk meets Autechre in parts. Save it for when the hangover anxiety kicks in for a good laugh. nicolasjaar.bandcamp.com/track/menysid
Many people will avoid this album because it's too popular. Don't. It's brilliant. The minute I heard the opening lines I knew it was going to be good - phoebebridgers.bandcamp.com/track/moon-song
Wait. Hang on. Are you one of these people that haven't heard of Peter Broderick before? Well, sort yourself out now -
symphony no.1 op.25 larghetto (sergei prokofiev) - Cleanse the palate
Predictable but I had to end on something like this. I'm beginning to think Axe to Fall is actually better than Jane Doe. There. I said it. Anyway, imagine being able to open an album with this and then continue keeping your attention. Outstanding convergecult.bandcamp.com/track/dark-hor…
Most links from bandcamp here but buying from anywhere can help. Labels and shops are also struggling. If you are able to afford it, please keep buying music so live music can continue once we are out of this mess. Streaming does not sustain musicians. Thanks for listening.

Evening. Me again. Here is a list of some of my favourite live performances. The kind of performances you would hope will happen next year. The type of performances that many musicians need support with now, so they can make it through.
The Arcade Fire once played the 13th note on King street in Glasgow. Small venues are integral to this as well. Here they are playing one of my favourite songs in a lift. The percussion is inspired -
Here are Big Thief playing the tiny desk concert. Yes, the rhythm guitarist is distracting but don't let that spoil what is a predictably brilliant version of "Masterpiece" -
