Nigerian youth are rejecting the ethnic sentiments that color many discussions and issues in Nigeria. A protester rallying protesters in Yoruba. #EndSARS protests at Lekki are very much on. More people have come as night has set.
#EndSARS solidarity messages projected onto the side of Oriental Hotel at the Lekki tollgate.
I've said this before, especially while watching many #Nollywood films. We need to address the infantilization of Nigerian adults. Its one of the ways that young adult Nigerians are denied full autonomy and emancipation. Seen alot of it during this #EndSARS
We like to call our serving presidents "Father of the Nation." But that's not how that phrase is used. We need to address this issue where elected officials speak to young voting age Nigerians like children.
Presidents, governors, National Assembly members, etc may be fathers and mothers, but they are elected public servants and that is what our relationship should be. They are NOT our parents, we are NOT their children.
You're definitely missing some great African driven content if you're not following @NewsCentralTV. Let me share a few videos of what you've missed. #AfricaFirst#NewsCentral
@NewsCentralTV I recently sat down to discuss "Infertility in African Culture" on #NCDebrief. My guest was @MissMolatelo. Her personal journey informed her documentary "When Babies Don't Come." She shared how she was treated by family and friends in this time.
Unless you are working at a talk radio station, broadcasters should watch their speech bands. There's so much talk on radio stations in Lagos that are not talk stations. There's a fine balance to be had in setting the tone for a convo and just talking.
Now if you work at a talk radio station, it's easy to fall into the trap of talking to much in introducing a conversation. I fell into that trap myself. But you have to be conscious of it. Be specific about the info you set the tone with. Add details and context as you go along.
Just listened to 2 talk show hosts use about 10 minutes to introduce their topic. Introduced guests at beginning of 10 minute speech band, so much info given. I forgot what they had said in the beginning.
