In today’s news, the new Roam update gave me BLAZING fast search speed (both main search and blockref search). Great stuff @RoamResearch !

Now Imma need that advanced search CTRL+SHIFT+9 as a button on the top bar and we can begin Total Block Synchronicity

Total block synchronicity (like many other phrases I invent) is the transition towards a knowledge management system that emphasizes blocks than pages.

Organizing knowledge by their words/searchability, themes optional.

As page = global closed env, block systems = 1 env

Page as it’s own global block environment means you can ref all blocks within the page to a block

But encouraging block > page refs means no need for closed off global borders by pages.

= DEEPER atomicity leads to increased remixability of notes

Prereq for this is to understand all knowledge is on one graph, pages are to contain and aid YOUR understanding of a closed context. Does not rep Roam’s limitations as a tool

So more block refs = acceptance that anything can connect to each other = abnormal knowledge synthesis

The ‘page’ where you begin to understand a thread is the parent block on daily notes

Every single word, phrase, block can be ref elsewhere, aliased, swapped, mentioned, etc.

My pages are now:
- Organized contexts
- Inbox for references
- Completed products for outside world

Roam is rewriting my brain to the weirdest levels. It’s an uncomfortable but welcoming feeling 🤪

Me when I draft a note, search blockrefs for phrases and come back with 35 possible connections to nest beneath it (auto-drafting)

Rewiring* but given we write in Roam, rewriting works just as well
