NEW: Due to heavy flooding of the railway at Ardgay, services between Inverness and Wick have been suspended until water levels drop.

UPDATE: Engineers are on-site monitoring the situation.

UPDATE: The line will remain close until further notice.

UPDATE:
• Services between Inverness and Wick will be cancelled or revised.
• Services between Inverness and Dingwall are unaffected.
• Services between Inverness and Tain are unaffected.

UPDATE: To keep you moving, ticket acceptance is in place with Stagecoach North.

• 16:00 Wick to Inverness is being replaced by a D&E coach.

• 18:33 Inverness to Wick is cancelled. Replacement transport has been requested but is not yet confirmed.

• 18:33 Inverness to Wick is cancelled. Aaron's coaches will replace this train.

UPDATE: The line at Ardgay has now reopened. Alterations to services will remain in place apart from 18:33 Inverness-Wick which will operate normally.

Replacement transport for the following services;
10:41 Inverness-Wick & 16:00 Wick-Inverness will be covered by D&E coaches.

CLEAR: Disruption caused by heavy rain flooding the railway at Ardgay has now ended.

We're very excited to unveil the first of our five Active Travel Carriages. These each have space for up to 20 bikes of all shapes and sizes - including tandems, and e-bikes.

They'll enter service on the #WestHighlandLine once we're able to safely complete staff training.

The finishing touches to the first carriage are currently being made at @BrodieEng's workshops in Kilmarnock.

As well as fitting the racks for bikes and heavy luggage, they've also installed WiFi, plug sockets, and upgraded the toilet.

The stunning livery was created by Skye-based artist, Peter McDermott and depicts landmarks from the journey including Kilchurn Castle, Ben Lomond, Glenfinnan Viaduct, and the Cullins.

NEW: We've had reports of flooding between Saltcoats and Ardrossan. For safety reasons, trains for Largs & Ardrossan will only run as far as Kilwinning until the water level drops to a more suitable level.

TICKET ACCEPTANCE: We have arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes with @StagecoachWScot between Largs and Kilwinning in both directions.

ℹ️ TUESDAY UPDATE: Due to flooding between Saltcoats and Ardrossan South Beach, the line remains closed from start of service today until the water recedes sufficiently.

All services between Glasgow and Ardrossan/Largs will terminate/start at Kilwinning until further notice.
