For perspective, Trump apparently has known bank accounts in only two other countries: UK and Ireland.
It isn’t like the guy has foreign accounts all over the place. He generally uses Western banks.
So, we have a Steele Dossier item alleging Trump paid bribes in China.
2/
And we now have an undisclosed bank account in China.
And, lastly, we have reporting from earlier this year about Trump trying to have the law which makes it illegal for U.S. businesses to break U.S. bribery laws even in other countries.
I mean, if I had a history of foreign corrupt practices, I suppose I’d want the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act struck down too.
And if I had illegally bribed Chinese officials, I’d probably be pretty susceptible to blackmail by those and other officials.
4/
The very last thing I would want is for people to find out about my secret, illegal efforts to build business in China.
So, I’d probably over-correct and try to sound like I was bashing China and was very tough on them.
5/
And I’d probably throw out projections bigger than an IMAX and call my opponent soft on China and say his son had dirty dealings there.
And then, if I was a wholly dysfunctional narcissist like Trump, when news broke about my secret account and people connected the dots...
6/
...back to the Steele Dossier, I would:
- Call it all hoax
- Admit to the secret account but call it normal business stuff
- Insist my businesses never bribed anyone
- Angrily insist bribery is actually good and fair and right
- Claim people against bribery are the bad guys

Let’s see how many we check off within the next 24 hours.
Poor Donnie. There’s a new dent in his facade - or new major threat to it - every new day.
Humpty Trumpty never shoulda been so pro-wall.
8/
Separately, we should now pound the hell out of vulnerable Republicans who have been strongly anti-China in an effort to praise Trump.
Get them on record:
Do they approve of a President having secret financial affairs with the country they called a threat?
9/
“In 2017, [A Trump company] reported an unusually large spike in revenue — some $17.5 million, more than the previous five years’ combined. It was accompanied by a $15.1 million withdrawal by Mr. Trump”
Same thing happened with a Trump company in Vegas.
A lot of people are going to hate this and immediately reject it but hear me out.
The biggest mistake Democrats have made for years and years is being too nice.
We have cared far too much about politeness and decorum. We have treated a bloodsport like it was a bridge game.

Since at least when Obama took office (but more like the past forty years), we on the left and our elected representatives have clung to a suicidal fiction that ‘going high’ would save us.
Subconsciously, it is pleasing, at least partially, because it is self-inflating.
2/
“We are better than that! We would never stoop to the lows of those people!”
While the right endlessly works to personally destroy people on the left, we’ve clung to the mantra of “attacking ideas not people” as if it was a bible verse.
