Oh, Ratcliffe is leading off. Well, that inspires confidence.
The guy who was originally turned down for DNI because he lied about his resume is here to warn about disinformation.
Ratcliffe says that Iran is trying to meddle to hurt Trump, but then mentions the emails threatening voters — ones saying they’ll release info on them if they don’t vote for Trump — but doesn’t mention Trump there. Well done.
Well, thanks for the vague comments on the second threat, let’s see if the media has anything more specific than the FBI here ... oh!
Sorry, it seems this was somehow even dumber than I thought — Ratcliffe didn’t ignore the partisan impact of the email threats to Democratic voters; he implied the threats were meant to hurt Trump? What?

I know there’s a lot of horrible things going on and there’s much more important stuff to worry about and the NFL season is surely doomed, but I still feel the need to announce the return of YOUR REIGNING SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS, THE KANSAS CITY GODDAMN CHIEFS!!!!
As I've noted repeatedly on here, the first wave of Southern Republicans in the 1950s and 1960s largely showed the same support of segregation as Southern Democrats.
Texas Republicans in the 1950s and 1960s fit that pattern well.
For instance, when the Brown ruling was handed down in 1954, the Texas GOP nominee for governor attacked the Court and promised he would preserve segregation if elected.
He went so far as to criticize Texas Democrats for failing to take a "positive stand for segregation."
