If the NSW government refuses to legalise it, the least they could do is not enforce unfair penalties against people using medicinal cannabis or with minor traces of the drug in their system.
The government is rejecting the Greens amendment for medicinal cannabis to be a defence for the offence of drug driving.
Shockingly Fred Nile is strongly opposed too. Young people need to be deterred from smoking pot and driving says Fred.
"They Greens would go further if they had the chance". Yes Fred we would. greens.org.au/sites/default/…

Another day in Parliament - another day keeping them honest. We'll start with the senior advisors in the Premier's office whose emails exposed that Gladys had signed off on more than $100 million in grant funding pork-barrelling Coalition seats before the 2019 election #nswpol Image
Then we'll be looking further into the need for independent funding for bodies like the ICAC and the Ombudsman to ensure the Government can't punish integrity agencies by cutting their budgets - this week alone shows just how necessary this is! Image
I am the Chair of the Committee undertaking both of these inquiries - we won't let them hide the truth!

Congratulations to the Bolivian people on reelecting the Movement for Socialism, an anti-colonial, Indigenous, socialist party who won this week's election in a landslide.
The MAS Party victory followed them being deposed in a far-right, US-backed, military coup last year.
The US government has a sordid history of backing right wing coups against democratically elected socialist governments in Latin American in particular.

Another brutal assault of a First Nations person in custody - this happened in January 2019 and while the officer was charged in October 2019 he's STILL a serving police officer.
abc.net.au/news/2020-10-2…
In no other job would you keep your job and full pay while facing such serious charges. The culture of police investigating police, and determining if and when to suspend officers MUST end.
We've seen so many assaults of First Nations people captured on bodycam/CCTV that you have to wonder how many more have been successfully hidden.

The inquiry into the NSW workers comp scheme is holding a hearing with Treasury officials - they tell us they don't know who approved employees paid for by icare working out of the Treasurer's office. parliament.nsw.gov.au/pages/macquari…
The arrangements were against the law, all paid for with money meant to go to injured workers. And we can't confirm if the Treasurer or the Liberal Party will be required to pay it back.
No security or police checks done for these employees despite all the extremely sensitive , confidential and potentially extremely valuable information in the Treasurer’s office. This was a direct failing of the Treasurer.

I’m in court this morning because the police are trying to charge me and other protesters over the November 2019 climate protest at Kirribilli. We will never stop standing up for the planet 🌏💪 Watch from 9am at facebook.com/DavidShoebridg… #nswpol
The police are telling me we need to stand on the footpath this morning and not the stairs - this is going to be a long day 😅
We’re hoping to live tweet this for you but court security still haven’t let in staff or witnesses yet - stand by

We've put together a brief explainer on the new COVID-19 lockdown laws in NSW. This is not legal advice but an attempt to aid understanding.
We've had a lot of questions about the laws and there is a lot of confusion about what they mean for ordinary people.
A reasonable excuse is needed to leave your home. The laws list some of the reasonable excuses, but there may be others (it's a non-exhaustive list).
