People love to think Democrats are playing these intense chess games. I learned decades ago this isn’t the case.
It’s how we give them too much latitude to make dumb decisions. “Ah this apparently nonsensical move must be part of an opening gambit in a grand plan.” Nope, it’s just a silly move and we should have cut them off early.
The people are actually smarter than the politicians, every time. They don’t have access to secret files we don’t. If anything their position in power tends to blind them to obvious things normal people can easily see. Never give them the benefit of the doubt.
*especially* when they’re on your side

what happened is you hired a conservative activist and she fabricated interviews with fellow conservative activists as average citizens. and you printed it.
trump went to one of his oldies, emphasizing the "hussein" in obama's name. and the crowd wasn't that into it.
and now he's doing the hunter biden thing. fox on the brain, 24/7.
trump runs a rally like me going up and going on extended disney/comics riffs.
"Folks, the DC people, they keep rebooting the universe. Why do they keep rebooting the universe? So much with the Crisis. So much Flashpoint. Make the universe strong again..."
"i'm hackin' this guy, i got past his blasted firewall, folks!"
"these noobs think they can outfox cyber joe, but ive been programming since before these whippersnappers were born. they used to call me dial-up joe, ladies and gentlemen"
kennedy gave an awesome speech and every democrat and progressive and anyone to the left of center should study and emulate it whenever talking about republicans. see it here
that speech is 33 yrs old and the collective gop skin is still burning from the way kennedy slapped it. regardless of how you feel about kennedy, its the best way to attack the right: saying what they stand for, unambigously.
in that speech, kennedy was 100% accurate, and he simply said, eff bork, and eff all who see the world like him. and THREE DECADES LATER republicans are still whining about it, because it is far too rare of a thing with democrats.
