Joe Biden exemplifies the kind of witless globalist foreign policy that allowed fascist China to become a hegemonic world power. They think every problem is "solved" by holding meetings and issuing press releases.
It's an extension of the left-wing dogma that domestic problems are "solved" by loudly announcing how much you care about them and demanding billion-dollar government programs to address them. What the programs actually DO, or fail to do, is irrelevant.
China long ago mastered the art of exploiting the globalists by studying their bloviations in Western media telling them exactly what they want to hear. Then China actually DOES the exact opposite, but it doesn't matter because they said the right things at the right forums.
Obama and Biden were COMICALLY useless against China. Obama would hold a big meeting with Xi, who would solemnly declare China is a bigger victim of hacking than anyone and wants cybersecurity more than anybody. Obama would beam proudly and declare success.
And then the next massive Chinese raid on U.S. intellectual property would begin before the wheels of Xi's plane cleared the tarmac in Washington.
Nowhere is this more hilariously obvious than on climate change theology. The Chinese understand exactly why power-hungry Western politicians worship at the Church of Global Warming. They know exactly what to say at all the posh international conferences. Globalists lap it up.
Meanwhile, China's out there pumping tons of CFCs into the atmosphere and building dirty coal plants across the Third World - but it doesn't matter, because the mouthed the right words, threw a little money around, and correctly deduced climate change is really about socialism.
And what was Obama's disastrous Iran nuclear deal but Democrats treating nuclear weapons proliferation like it was some junk billion-dollar Democrat slush fund disguised as an anti-poverty program?
They held multilateral meetings, everybody said the right things, a LITERAL pallet of cash was thrown at the problem, and victory was declared. Meanwhile, Iran immediately started cheating like hell and used Obama's money to foment violent unrest across the Middle East.
Biden and his ilk think EVERY issue works like that: hold a bunch of meetings, issue some press releases, spend a few billion dollars of other people's money, boom problem solved. When it doesn't work, the "solution" is to hold more meetings and spend more money.
The winners in a rigged game like that are the hostile authoritarian powers and international grifters that know how to say all the right things, but feel no real domestic political pressure to do anything contrary to their personal or nationalist interests.
Trump is the first president in a long time to actually call bullshit on the globalist fantasy, ask why America is the only nation that ever has to put its money where its mouth is, and work backward from definite national interest goals instead of getting lost in the "process."
Trump's approach is not universally successful - no foreign policy ever has been, including Ronald Reagan's - but at least he focuses on significant American national goals and makes plans to get there. Even NATO admitted he was right about its members needing to pay more.
Trump is smart enough to stay out of transparently rigged garbage like the Paris climate accords, which ADMIT they wouldn't come close to solving the "problem" they would force us to waste billions on - the ultimate example of a globalist "process" quagmire.
Biden would get us back into all of that junk, while China smiles and mercilessly continues corrupting every globalist institution and using them to advance its agenda, pausing occasionally to praise Biden's embrace of "win-win cooperation" and "equitable" global trade. /end
