Today marks 1 month of passing away of the great Legendary Singer Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam #SPB who started his playback career in 1967 for movie Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna. This thread is some my favourite songs/albums of him as "Music Director"

After a decade of playback singing in 1977, his debut movie as a Music Director was for Kanya Kumari directed by another legendary director Dasari Narayana Rao. How coincidental are the lyrics for this song Idi Toli Pata (My debut song), lyrics by Veturi

In 1978, he debuted as music director for a #Kannada movie "Sandharbha" meaning Opportunity, the title song Sandarbha Sahayoga was written director Gauri Sundar himself. Enjoy the song

In 1979, he composed music for 3 Telugu movies Captain Krishna, Rara Krishnayya & Toorpu Velle Railu
First one of the year is KSR Das's Captain Krishna has 3 songs of which this Veturi Song by SPB & Susheela is the most famous one, Kala Kaalam Ide Paadani

2 Notable songs from the second movie Rara Krishnayya are
1. Aa Vannelu Ekkadivi
2. Aravaiki Aarellaki
For this song, SPB has taken assistance from MD Satyam garu, the same is credited in the titles
