Bhatias are originally Yaduvanshi Sama dynasty Bhatti Rajputs of Jaisalmer. In 1316 AD, 2000 Bhatia families migrated to Sindh & Punjab. In 14th century Bhatias were agriculturist & fisherman in Sindh.Vallabhacharya made them Vaishnav & vegetarian.They began to wear Janoi-thread.
Around 1350 AD some Bhatia families migrated to Kutch from Sindh. Here they settled in Tera,Vinjan & Kothara towns of Abdasa Taluka of Kutch. In 16th century Bhatias spread from Abdasa Taluka to newly founded Kutch cities Mandvi,Mundra & Anjar and Saurashtra. They became traders.
When Kutch king Khengarji founded Mandvi city in 1581 he invited Sindh big trader Bhatia Topan to Mandvi to develop trade & shipping of port. In 16 century Nagarsheth Bhatia Topan & his castes traders made Mandvi Kutch a major port of west India in middle age.He built Topan lake.

In 9th century Sorath king Versi Vala adopted his daughter's son Chandrachud Sama of Sindh & made him a successor.Chandrachud became Sorath king at Vanthali.Descendants Chandrachud Sama are Chudasama Rajputs.He was first Rah king of Sorath.His descendants were rulers of Junagadh.
Some followers wrote us that today is foundation day of Porbandar city. In fact foundation date of Porbandar is not known. It is very ancient city which is mentioned in Purana. In Skandapurama it is mentioned as Sudamapuri, Puri & Paurvelakul. Porbandar is as old as Dwarka.
In ancient time Porbandar was known by Sanskrit name 'Paurvelakul'.Velakul means port. It was also known as Sudamapuri or Puri in old time. In middle age, Muslims called it Puri Bandir. In Persian/Farsi language Bandir means port. Persian name Puri Bandir later became Porbandar.
In Sudamapur Mahatmya of Skandapuran, Porbandar as Sudamapuri, its river Asmavati, Kedareshvar temple & Kedarkund are mentioned. In ancient time Porbandar was between two major pilgrimages Prabhaskshetra & Dwarkakshetra. So it was also an important pilgrimage place.
Today on 60th Gujarat Foundation Day, our tribute to martyrs & participants of Mahagujarat Movement.15 to 18 martyrs lost lives in movement. Freedom fighter & writer Indulal Yagnik led Mahagujarat Movement agitation on 8th August 1956.
Congress-led bilingual Bombay state Government used brutal police power to suppress Mahagujarat Movement. Four students Punamchand, Kaushik, Suresh & Abdul of Mahagujarat Movement died in police firing at Congress Bhavan at Lal Darwaza area in Ahmedabad on 9th August 1956.
In 1958 AD Mahagujarat Janata Parishad tried to erect 4 martyrs monument at Congress Bhavan in Ahmedabad but Congeress-led bilingual Bombay state Govt removed it.On 1st May 1960 Gujarat State created from Bombay State after long struggle & agitation by Mahagujarat Janata Parishad
Today is the 297th foundation day of #Bhavnagar city. Gohil dynasty Rajput ruler of Shihor Bhavsinhji Ratanji Gohil founded Bhavnagar in 1723 AD. It was the time of the end of Mughal power & beginning of Maratha power in Gujarat.
In 1722 AD Maratha Sardar Kanthaji Kadam & Pilaji Gaekwad attacked Gohil state Shihor in Saurashtra. It ruler Bhavsinhji forced Maratha to go back. He considered Shihor unsafe. So he selected a village on Khambhat Bay seacoast & started to develop it as his new capital Bhavnagar.
Guhil/Gohil Rajputs were rulers of Khergadh in Marwad. In 12th century their last king Mohdas was defeated & expelled by Shiyoji Rathod from Kanoj. In 1250 AD king Mohdas Guhil's grandson Sejakji Gohil left Marwad & came to Saurashtra.
