We can all see the bias in the media on big issues like the laptop from hell but we tend to miss the day to day bias. For instance, Trump is the incumbent. He won 306 EV and 30 states in 2016. Granted some of those wins were by a narrow margin but most were not.
However, if you read or listen to the media you would think Biden is the incumbent and Trump is the challenger needing to take states not hold them. It is Biden that has to win Trump states not Trump that has to win Biden states.
It is Trump that has the easier path to 270 not Biden. Biden must Win all the upper midwest Trump states (MI, Wi) as well as PA. It is Biden that has to hold MN and NH. It is Biden that must take back ME2. It is Biden that has to try to steal (NC, FL, AZ, OH, GA and IA)
However, listening to the media you would think Trump needs to take those states from Biden. It's subtle but it's bias. The media has never given Trump or his supporters the respect they earned in 2016. They have always treated him and us as the minority not the majority in those
30 states that Trump won. The fact is, Trump is the incumbent that gives him a tremendous advantage but listening to the media you would think Biden was in the WH and Trump was the outsider trying to reclaim lost states.
"So what?" People might say. It's important because it changes the perception of people. Instead of Trump supporters being confident they are worried. Instead of people looking at OH, GA, TX, & IA and seeing how far Biden would have to go to win them back. They act like they are
...toss up states. You don't see the Dems thinking VA and CO are toss up states even though Hillary won those states by the same or less than Trump won OH, GA, Tx and OH. So if those states can be toss up states why can't VA and CO or NM?
You see how the narrative is crafted? Instead of us talking about CO, VA, ME and NM being toss up states we are talking about OH, GA, TX and IA. Instead of having massive polling done for CO, VA, NM, and ME we get the polling. companies polling OH.
The election will most likely come down to PA, MI, WI and MN. However who says that VA, CO, NM and ME might not surprise us? Oh, that's right, the media does because that's the narrative and they don't want people to understand the possibilities out there.
