This morning I cast my ballot in a key swing state for @JoeBiden. It felt wonderful to officially repudiate the Trump administration’s corruption, lawlessness, incompetence, racism, misogyny, and hate.
And dishonesty. How could I have left that off the list? My apologies, I was momentarily disabled by pure joy.
At my polling location, there were over 200 people in line before 7:00 AM. Everyone was wearing a mask and social distancing. The excitement was incredibly palpable. I overheard the couple ahead of me say that Joe Biden handily won the debate.
It is official: my parents, registered republicans who voted for Donald Trump in 2016, cast their ballots for @JoeBiden! To say that I am full of joy would be an understatement.
Asked what kind of government was created after the 1787 Constitutional Convention, Ben Franklin famously exclaimed: “A republic, if you can keep it.” For the second time in our nation’s history, there is a real chance that we may lose it.
Indeed, the upcoming election will be the most consequential one in our lifetime. The republic – an experiment in self-government that our founders initiated 233 years ago – is at stake. So too is the very soul of our nation.
BREAKING: The N.Y. Attorney General just filed a lawsuit against the Trump Organization, Inc., DJT Holdings LLC, DJT Holdings Managing Member, LLC, Eric Trump, and others. The petition is sealed, but appears to relate to the enforcement of subpoenas.
Ignore the misinformation that this is a RICO suit - it is not. The case type is listed as: "Special Proceedings - Other (OSC to compel disclosure)."
The Attorney Affirmation filed with the Motion to Seal contains a few interesting tidbits.
BREAKING: Volume 5 of the Senate Intel Committee’s counterintelligence report - nearly 1,000 pages - has finally been released.
"The Committee found that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian effort to hack computer networks and accounts affiliated with the Democratic Party and leak information damaging to Hillary Clinton and her campaign for president."
"Moscow's intent was to harm the Clinton Campaign, tarnish an expected Clinton presidential administration, help the Trump Campaign after Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee, and undermine the U.S. democratic process."
