1/ Baptists do not believe in having a Pope. This includes the "shut up and listen to the experts" variety like college presidents or profs, well known authors, prominent megachurch pastors, or #BigEva elites.
2/ The Priesthood of the Believer - Every believer today is a priest of God & may study Gods Word, pray, & offer worship thru our Great High Priest, Jesus. No other mediator is needed between God and people. We all have equal access to God—whether we are a preacher or not.
3/ Individual soul liberty - Every believer answers ultimately to God through his or her conscience for his or her religious beliefs & actions. So if you are going to persuade believers, you must use the Bible. A believer cannot be persuaded with force or human means.
4/ The Church - Of course, believers are part of a body & have a relationship to one another. We persuade each other, provoke each other to be godly, to be accountable to one another, to be submissive to one another. Of course we appreciate the teaching & guidance of others.
