THREAD | Wolves creative woes against Newcastle
Despite dominating the possession and territory against Newcastle, Wolves failed to create enough chances to win the game, falling victim to a late equaliser #wwfc
Wolves had 16 shots in the game but just 3 of those were on target. As you can see from this shot map (credit @InfogolApp) only one of those shots came in front of the penalty spot and that was from an angle, on Raul Jimenez’s left foot #wwfc
In the first half (and particularly early on) Wolves had some bright passages of play where they were able to create space inside the Newcastle low block and look threatening in the final third #wwfc
Down the right, Wolves also had the threat of Nelson Semedo. He linked up play well and was an attacking outlet deep in the Newcastle half. However, his impact was reduced as the game went on, perhaps down to a lack of match fitness #wwfc
Unfortunately down the left, Romain Saiss (and later Fernando Marcal) was never going to pose a huge attacking threat to Newcastle. Those two are key squad members but the wing-back role is not so natural to them, and so Wolves lacked balance in attack #wwfc
When Wolves did get into encouraging positions, their decision making was poor and the locations that they chose to shoot from were not the wisest when they had options or space to pass or dribble into the penalty area #wwfc
Nuno’s analysis (pictured) was fairly accurate in the aftermath of the game so I think he is aware of what we need to do in what will be a similar game against Crystal Palace. Considering our disrupted schedule, this should come together in time #wwfc
What solutions do we have? We need to improve our decision making in the final third for sure, but I would also look to integrate Rayan Ait-Nouri () into the team as soon as possible at left wing-back to give better balance to our attack #wwfc

THREAD | RAYAN AÏT NOURI
Wolves fans got a decent opportunity to check out potential new signing Rayan Aït Nouri in a 6-1 defeat to PSG last night. Despite the result, there was plenty of praise for left wing-back. Have put together this thread on his performance! #WWFC Image
Firstly, a small picture of what Aït Nouri offers. It's a limited sample due to the amount of minutes (broken jaw in January/curtailment of season) BUT evident he is a keen dribbler, not dissimilar to Ruben Vinagre in that respect but is good in the air and pressures well. #WWFC Image
Last night, he took the third most touches of his team (75) and this was his heat map. As you'd expect he covered the left side pretty well despite the opposition and result, still a key man for his team, especially in possession. #WWFC Image
