EndSARS: Police In Kano Recover Looted Items, Arrest 59 Suspects

The police in Kano State have recovered some looted items and arrested 31 suspects over the violent demonstrations in Kano metropolis on October 19 and October 20, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Habu Sani, said.

During the demonstrations under the guise of the  “EndSARS Protest”
hoodlums processed in the Sabon Gari area of Kano from Sarkin Yaki Road to France Road up to Kwakwaci and Airport roads.

The hoodlums attacked a political party office and invaded private and public properties where they caused incalculable damage.

Sani said the operation ..
Puff Adder team of the Police Command, led by DCP Sule Balarabe, recovered some looted items and arrested some suspects over looting, vandalism and malicious damages of public and private properties.

He said the team also arrested 28 other suspects for
alleged involvement in other crimes in the guise of #EndSARS protest.

The commissioner said the vandals destroyed eight vehicles, one tricycle and burnt two motorcycles, looted or vandalised 38 shops, including Galaxy Mall and Chicken Republic, an eatery.
He said the police
team recovered 25 gas cylinders and two fire extinguishers, four washing machines, 11 refrigerators, 
six generators, two grinding machines and five motorcycles, including one burnt motorcycle.

Sani said the team also recovered six plastic drums, five television sets, two
luminous, 220 inverter batteries, one sack containing drugs and injections and nine new wrappers.

Also recovered were 44 new motorcycle tyres, one sack containing motorcycle tubes, one cushion chair, 10 ceiling and standing fans, four air conditioners, 12 mattresses
19 empty plastic crates, nine pots of different sizes, three alternators and one electric Kettle.

The commissioner listed other recoveries as two wash hand sinks, two big gas cookers, one bag containing old clothes, one counting machine, eight stabilisers, four 25-litre
jerry-cans containing palm oil an six sewing machines.

Others are one frying machine, seven eating tables two, big coolers, three dustbins of different sizes, large number of broken burglaries and two iron shelves as well as toilet rolls, one sack containing nylon sacks
15 chairs, one large iron cage, two blenders, two DVD players and one glass stool.

Nigerian Troops Thwart Twin ISWAP Attacks, Kill Fighters In Damboa

On Tuesday, October 27, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters launched a fresh attack on the Garrison town of Damboa, Borno State, Northeast Nigeria. The attack is the second in two days.

The group had launched an attack on the town on Sunday, October 25, but were
repelled by troops. It also attacked the town two weeks earlier.

HumAngle learnt that the military has sent a reinforcement of troops to take charge of the situation but the details of the attack are yet unknown.

Flood: Displaced Persons In Camps Beg For Attention In Anambra

Chinazaekpere Orichi, an 11-year-old girl, is taking refuge at Ogbaru Local Government Secretariat, Atani, relief camp in Anambra State, for persons displaced by flood caused by the rise of water from the River Niger.

Orichi who is at the camp with her mother was sacked from
their home in Umudaike village, Atani, where schools have been submerged by flood water and she cannot go to school.

With her are other children of primary school age numbering about 40 who have been in camp with their parents for about a month and who sleep and wake daily
