Analysis
Since time I'm active on twitter, have witnessed several people who r adamant on saying that Jain Dharma is an offshoot of Hindu Dharma. Some even didn't read scriptures and say so just because it was fed in their mind 1/n
Some others give instances of Bhagwat Puran which says bhagwan Adinath was founder of Jain Dharma and incarnation of Vishnu. It's wrong. In Adi Puran, last 10 births of Bhagwan Adinath r mentioned and his name was not Vishnu in any of them. 2/n
Some others claim Jain Dharma to have been originated from Vedas which is again baseless. When proof is demanded, they r unable to provide any. The fact is that Jain Dharma is eternal. Nobody created it.

Even bhagwan Adinath was first tirthankar in current time cycle on this Earth. Before current time cycle, infinite tirthankars have born in infinite time cycles and in future, infinite tirthankars will take birth. Further, this is about our earth only

As per Jain Philosophy, there r total 170 karm bhoomis (other earths) wherein Jain Dharma is followed. Tirthankars r found there as well. So saying that Jain Dharma is an offshoot of Hindu Dharma, is totally baseless and product of the mind of some miscreant.

Some claim jains go to Hindu temple, worship deities so r Hindu. Again baseless. Several Hindus go to church so r Christian. A big NO? Same with jains. Worshipping deities is not as per Jain Philosophy. We worship only veetraagi god and saints who r free from all attachments

Some say that for unity among us, Jain Dharma should be treated as part of Hindu Dharma. Again baseless. For unity, thus is not required. If so, why not declare Hindu Dharma a part of Jain Dharma? People of different Dharma can also unite.

Some say that bhagwan Mahaveera was Kshatriya so he was Hindu. Again illogical. Being Kshatriya is not a religion. As per Jain scriptures, bhagwan Adinath categorised people in 3 categories - Kshatriya vaishya shudra. Layer king Bharat introduced brahmin. So baseless claim.
Some say parents of bhagwan Mahaveera were Hindu. Again wrong. As per Jain scriptures, they were followers of 23rd tirthankar, bhagwan parsvanatha. A tirthankar is the noblest soul so they r born in a Jain Kshatriya family only.
