There are basically three theories of this election. We'll soon know which is most accurate. It's possible all of them are true at once, in which case we're in for a close election and weeks of ballot-counting hell. This is 2020, so that's probably what will happen.
One theory is that Trump will lose an election where he was essentially the only candidate on the ballot, an up-or-down referendum he loses more because of things he's said than anything he's done. Biden's basement strategy will be hailed as genius.
This supposes the polls are basically right, and a great deal of the electorate passed judgment on Trump long ago. They're discarded or forgotten everything before the coronavirus, the dominant event of their lives. They're not swayed much by recent events or breaking news.
There isn't much enthusiasm for Biden, but there doesn't have to be. People are mostly voting against Trump, with varying degrees of energy. Some of them aren't heated partisans - they just shrug and figure they'll give the other guy a chance.
Some are intimidated by Democrat political violence. They're tired, they're scared, they don't want riots in their town. They don't want to be harassed online, attacked by their friends and family, or mocked by pop culture. They don't like Trump enough to swim against that tide.
After all the talk of "shy Trump voters," the big story of the election will be the quiet Biden voters - they don't show up for rallies, they aren't excited for the Dem ticket, but since voting was made incredibly easy, they'll vote for it. Pollsters have correctly detected them.
The second theory is the "shy Trump voter" scenario. There are very good reasons to think a lot of Trump voters aren't showing up in the polls, or that pollsters are undercounting them. Meanwhile, the visible enthusiasm for Trump means his voters will show up on Election Day.
A lot of people who grouse about Trump or even tell pollsters they're voting for Biden will actually vote for Trump again, now that the grousing is out of their system and they've taken a look at the Democrat ticket. His voting strength in key areas has actually grown since 2016.
Voters are absolutely repulsed by Antifa and BLM riots, and they're itching to vote against the political wing of those extremist movements, the Democrat Party. They see Trump as the last line of defense against radicalism. They want him to get the economy going again.
They know they can't say any of that stuff to pollsters - they have good reasons to feel nervous about what might happen to them if they're outed as BLM critics - but that's how they'll vote. They're chomping at the bit to do it.
The enthusiasm against Trump, the outrage over things he says, is amplified by the media and the online bubble. The electorate out there in the real world sees things differently than Twitter hysterics. The enthusiasm FOR Trump is more solid, more likely to bring voters out.
The third possibility is that the polls weren't all that far off in the aggregate, but momentum is shifting toward Trump in the homestretch, driven by late-breaking events and second thoughts about the Dem ticket. A lot of people have already voted, but a lot haven't.
The real difference between the candidates was never all that far outside the margin of error in the battleground states, and momentum is shifting enough for Trump to win, while polls shift to likely voter screens and the numbers tighten.
The polls weren't completely wrong or fictitious before, but the numbers really are changing as Election Day draws nigh, and the final results could look much different from polls a few weeks ago. Trump could win, or lose by much less than predicted.
And of course there could always be a Black Swan event between today and Tuesday. It's 2020. Why the hell not?
All of those theories have strong proponents and all have evidence in their favor. They're all plausible. The behavior of both campaigns in the homestretch suggests THEY find all three theories plausible. I don't think anyone is foolish for subscribing to any of the three. /end

VOTE DEMOCRAT TO STOP THIS MADNESS! Joe Biden has a smart plan to halt this insane recovery by shutting down the American energy industry, locking down the country, and raising taxes through the roof. Let's bring Obama "funemployment" back and Make the Welfare State Great Again!
You remember the good old days of Food Stamp Nation and "jobs created or saved," don't you? Vote Biden and you'll be placed under comfortable house arrest, your needs tended by the loving State, while America gets the punishment it deserves for two centuries of injustice.
With those ugly jobs Trump forced on everyone destroyed, you'll have plenty of free time to focus on your cowboy poetry or whatever you really love. Thanks to Joe's abortion policies, there will be fewer children running around to distract Americans from self-fulfillment.

An important step in mainstreaming and normalizing political violence is suggesting the victim is partly to blame for provoking the attack with free speech or legal actions. The victims are told to find some compromise with the demands of the attackers.
This is the goal of all political violence and terrorism: to acquire legitimacy, secure concessions, and force the victims to surrender some of their freedom. This is done by making that freedom seem impossible to protect, or unworthy of the effort.
As soon as moral equivalency is drawn between victims and terrorists, the terrorists are on the road to victory. A government unable or unwilling to protect the lives and property of its citizens is bound to excuse its failure by questioning the moral standing of the citizens.

How can anyone look at the greedy, power-mad, emotionally unstable, petulant Democrats and think life would get better in any way by giving them authority? A party given to tantrums and violent thuggery will not suddenly mature and grow respectful of dissent if given power.
The arrogance and privilege of Dems like Nancy "Secret Salon" Pelosi shows you how little they think of their own followers, never mind the opposing voters they viscerally hate. And it shows you they have no intention of living in the hell they create for YOU.
There is no reason not to believe Democrats when they promise to make war against the Constitution, against the Supreme Court, against capitalism and the middle class, against everyone who doesn't obey their commands. They've proven they mean it.

The myth of benevolent totalitarianism is pernicious and incredibly dangerous. Totalitarianism, the politicization of everything, NEVER ends well - no matter how benevolent and high-minded the totalitarians claim to be.
There is no way to pluck the "good" features from collectivist systems while discarding the "bad" stuff. There is no way to use totalitarianism to reprogram the public in a positive way, building a utopia by controlling the speech and thought of the public.
There is no "deeper freedom" that is nourished and preserved by cracking down hard on the "superficial" freedoms of speech, assembly, and property. That's one of the sickest lies of Marxism - the promise to "liberate" people from capitalist responsibility and material need.

DNC Media frames the Hunter Biden stuff as if Joe just helped his poor kid get a job at Wal-Mart so he could put food on the table between stints in rehab.

Hunter had a THRIVING influence peddling business that raked in millions, year after year. His customers seem satisfied.
In fact, has anyone yet come up with evidence that any of the shady foreign operators and agents of hostile powers that stuffed money into Hunter's pockets were dissatisfied with his services? Nobody seems to regret paying him off. No one acts like they wasted money on him.
The bombshell emails uncovered in the Forbidden Story of Doom, and other evidence discovered since then, make it crystal clear that all of those dodgy business partners and enemy agents knew EXACTLY what they were buying from Hunter: influence and access. No pretense otherwise.

Joe Biden exemplifies the kind of witless globalist foreign policy that allowed fascist China to become a hegemonic world power. They think every problem is "solved" by holding meetings and issuing press releases.
It's an extension of the left-wing dogma that domestic problems are "solved" by loudly announcing how much you care about them and demanding billion-dollar government programs to address them. What the programs actually DO, or fail to do, is irrelevant.
China long ago mastered the art of exploiting the globalists by studying their bloviations in Western media telling them exactly what they want to hear. Then China actually DOES the exact opposite, but it doesn't matter because they said the right things at the right forums.
