Marco Rubio 2016: “People around the world are watching this debate and this campaign and wondering what’s happening here, because the things [Trump] says are nonsensical.”

Marco Rubio 2020:
Rubio went on to warn in 2016 of Republicans supporting Trump: “These are people that – whether it’s now or five years from now or two years from now or six months from now – are going to be explaining for a long time how they fell into this.”
Rubio also said of Trump in 2016: "This is not about political correctness. This is about rules of civility and the way a society talks to each other."
“It's getting harder every day to justify that statement to myself, to my children, to my family& to the people that support me," Rubio said of backing Trump. "This country deserves better. At some point, people have to wake up here. This is really going to do damage to America."
And if the argument is Rubio, like Ted Cruz, was saying how disgusted he was with Trump in the context of a primary fight, consider that none of the 2020 losing Dems said anything close to this existential about Biden. Closest was Harris, but even her busing hit was much softer
Many Republican leaders who portray themselves as following morals and principles above politics said four years ago that Trump would be wrong for the party and the country—and are now arguing Trump should be re-elected, w/o explaining how their morals and principles flipped.

Biden campaign manager @jomalleydillon says Biden is "on track" to win today and "will be the next president of the United States."
Biden campaign manager is projecting wins in Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Calls Georgia "currently a toss-up." North Carolina "probably leaning towards Trump" but "going to do down to the wire."

"We think that this is already a foregone conclusion."
Biden campaign lawyer Bob Bauer predicts that if Trump does try to get to the Supreme Court to stop the count, he will be dealt "one of the most embarrassing defeats a president has ever suffered in the highest court of the land”

It’s 2020 and the TV stations are showing 20 minutes+ footage of an empty Trump podium
The question of whether TV stations would take Trump live even if he said things that aren’t true has been settled. He was making false claims of “disenfranchisement” by his second sentence.
And now the president is claiming that he won the election, just like he said he would, and it’s being carried on live TV, even though as of now, it is a lie.

It’s the day before the election and I will be the print pool reporter as Biden campaigns in Ohio & Pennsylvania. Follow along for what will either be the day before he wins or the day before he loses or the day before an extended count. He just got on his plane to Cleveland: Image
As he exited his car to get on the plane, Biden held up his index finger and said, “one more day.”
Biden has landed in Cleveland, where he’ll be addressing a drive in rally at a hangar at the airport: Image

NEW from me: Michigan was Trump's narrowest win in 2016. Democrats have spent four years trying to figure out how to get it back. Here's what they did:

This story is, effectively, Part 3 in a four year, three part series. It started in 2016, with just how many ways the Clinton campaign screwed up in Michigan in 2016: politico.com/story/2016/12/…
Part 2: How the Democrats came back in the midterms, from 2018: theatlantic.com/politics/archi…

the White House is still a coronavirus hot spot, and the coronavirus czar is still not following scientific recommendations about how to keep people safe:
at the beginning of the summer, Pence was insisting there was no second wave of infections coming. There was, and it's here. But this could be a second wave of infections just within the White House grounds.
this is from a few weeks ago -- after the VP debate -- but here's Short and Pence and the rest of the debate prep group, no masks

more of the White House's Twitter account focusing on publicizing government action only in states where the president is focusing his campaigning:
Now as Trump has landed for another campaign stop in Wisconsin, the White House Twitter account is tweeting about federal help to Wisconsin. As the information states, it is a government account, not a campaign account. Yet:
The president is headed to New Hampshire to campaign, so today the official White House government account has started the day promoting work in New Hampshire:
