DC public schools just canceled their plan to bring some students back next week.
"Teacher protests escalated Monday morning as the union encouraged educators to call in sick in opposition to the reopening plan."

If a grocery store doesn't reopen families can take their money elsewhere

If a school doesn't reopen families should similarly be able to take their children's education dollars elsewhere.
Families should be able to take their children's education dollars elsewhere even if their schools reopen

The money is supposed to be meant for educating children - not for protecting a government monopoly.
"The Washington Teachers’ Union is demanding that any teacher, regardless of age or health condition, be allowed to refuse to teach in-person."

Ohio is now partially funding some students with special needs directly.
Families can receive up to $1,500 to cover the costs of education services such as private tutoring.
This is a step in the right direction

But all families should have that choice.

And Ohio spends over $15,000 per child per year - why should students only get access to 10% of that?🤔

We should fund students instead of institutions.

The former president of the nation's largest teachers union is also being considered.

BREAKING: A federal appeals court ruled that Maine could exclude religious schools from participating in their voucher program.

But the U.S. Supreme Court just ruled that this is unconstitutional earlier this year

The family is now appealing the decision to SCOTUS.
Today's decision allows Maine to continue unconstitutionally discriminating against religious families and schools

This also violates the free exercise clause of the 1st Amendment

I am confident SCOTUS will reverse this decision based on Montana vs. Espinoza (2020).
Chief Justice Roberts: "A State need not subsidize private education. But once a State decides to do so, it cannot disqualify some private schools solely because they are religious."

Yet that's exactly what Maine is doing.

15 days later, Washington Post just responded to my request for a correction.

They do not agree that claiming teachers are disproportionately represented in COVID-19 obituaries (without any evidence) warrants a correction.
The editor claims that this sentence "makes clear that this is his subjective interpretation based in his own reading of obituaries, not a representation of scientific research."

Wow.
Here is the Washington Post article with the unsubstantiated claim:
