BREAKING: Texas federal judge rules that plaintiffs don't have standing, 127,000 ballots will be counted
Judge says plaintiffs didn't articulate a specific injury, which is required for standing.
Even if the plaintiffs did have standing, the judge says he would still count the votes.

He says the tents qualify as structures.
He also says the case is not timely. It's been going on since the summer and at least since September. And people have been voting for a couple of weeks.

(The legal term for this is latches.)
Judge says if he thought that the plaintiffs had standing, he would have enjoined drive-thru voting tomorrow, on Election Day. (He says a tent is not a building, which is required on Election Day.)
Judge says he would not vote drive-thru tomorrow so he could be sure his vote counts.

Orders the county to maintain records of what votes were cast via drive-thru.
I don't always have breaking news but I do have a newsletter devoted to independent accountability journalism

Election Day should be a national holiday.
DC should be a state.
The winner of the popular vote should be the next president.

1. This AM in Texas a federal judge will consider a motion to THROW AWAY OVER 125,000 VOTES in Harris County, a Democratic stronghold

It's a joke of a case, and the fact that a hearing has been scheduled is a worrying sign

2. There are counties all over Texas that have set up temporary structures (tents) for voting. But the Republicans didn't sue those counties. They only sued Harris County, which constructed tents that allowed people to vote in their cars

3. This plan for drive-thru voting was announced in JUNE and APPROVED BY TEXAS' REPUBLICAN SECRETARY OF STATE.

But the Republicans didn't sue until OCTOBER 13, hours before voting has begun.

It's nuts.

COUNTER-POINT: If you have terrible political opinions people aren’t required to like you.

For example, if you run a site that that is relentlessly misogynist and transphobic, I don’t have to consider you a “good person”
People also aren’t required to publish your terrible opinions in prominent publications and corporations aren required to pay to run ads alongside your terrible options

Broad social acceptance is not a constitutional right and has nothing to do with freedom of speech
Your critics have just as much right to freedom of speech as you do. They also have the right to organize against you. These rights are just as important as anyone's right to say dumb stuff. A right I also support.

1. There is no "media blackout" of the Hunter Biden story, his alleged laptop or Tony Bobulinski.

The problem is the story makes absolutely no sense.

Follow along if interested.
2. The core issue is that even if every email from the laptop is legitimate and everything Tony Bobulinski alleges is true, it does not prove any wrongdoing by Biden.

That's why its not a story.
3. Tony Bobulinski is not a "business partner" of Hunter Biden. He was discussing business with Hunter Biden and the business fell through. He is CEO of a company that never did any business and is worth nothing.
