Which is a good reason for me to re-up this story from me, @typeinvestigate and @MotherJones yesterday about a Christian foster care home with a spotty record getting $87M in taxpayer money to house unaccompanied immigrant children.

When I tried to find out more, and to talk to the organization's executive director, I was told he needed HHS's permission to talk to me, and HHS didn't dispute that. And then:

Actual kids' well-being and safety is at stake here. Your taxpayer dollars are funding it. Yet Trump and his cronies would rather stoke panic over insane conspiracy theories.

In my first story, 2007, I reported on how they represented a local anti-LGBTQ coalition in Boyd County, KY, which was fighting diversity training in a public high school, stemming from local efforts to block a gay-straight alliance at the school.

ICYMI on Friday, I have a new piece out w/ @RollingStone @typeinvestigate about the impact of Trump judges (not just on SCOTUS, but throughout the federal courts) on the use of "religious freedom" to discriminate against LGBTQ people.

With four more years of Trump and a GOP-majority Senate, the outlook is pretty grim for LGBTQ rights.

During her confirmation hearings for the 7th Circuit, Amy Coney Barrett told the Senate Judiciary Committee, "I don't know what all of ADF's policy positions are."
