Sources : TN CM Edappadi’s plans to give a long rope to BJP by allowing them to conduct a limited agitation regarding Vel Yatra has gone haywire. EPS chose to please BJP in spite of the Madras HC arming him with an order to take any decision with regard to Vel Yatra. 1/n

Madras HC disposes of the PILs filed to ban the Vel Yatra by BJP by directing the government to take a decision in accordance with the prevailing pandemic situation and the representation of the petitioner Senthil Kumar. 1/n

Senthil Kumar in his petition has stated that “the potential communal disharmony the BJP’s Vel Yatra could cause is real and present. Given the past track record of BJP, and with elections round the corner, 2/n

there is every possibility that they may try to create trouble in areas where minorities are thickly populated. Further the culmination of the proposed rally by BJP is scheduled for 6th of December, 2020 the date of demolition of Babri Masjid. 3/n

DMK MP Kanimozhi flags BJP’s Vel Yatra.

In a tweet she asks will the TN BJP conduct a Yatra to insist that Lord Murugan should be worshipped only in Tamil in all temples. 1/n

TN BJP is planning to undertake a Vel Yatra similar to that of the Rath Yatra undertaken by BJP veteran LK Advani which took BJP to astonishing heights. The Vel Yatra by BJP is scheduled to commence on 6th November and conclude on 6th December, 2/n

Sources : TN BJP President Murugan gets green flag for his “Vel Yatra “. The yatra to commence from Tiruthani to Tiruchendur. He will also cover important Murugan shrines across the state, including Ratnagiri, Chennimalai, Marudamalai and Sivanmalai. 1/n

The Vel Yatra will commence on 6th November and conclude on 6th December, owing to victory celebration of the demolition of Babri Masjid.

The primary focus of the yatra to be DMK. All along the route, BJP will invoke the ‘Karuppar Kootam’ incident 2/n

and portray that DMK is behind Karuppar Kootam and DMK is an anti-Hindu party.

And, wherever possible, wherever ‘sanghi officers’ are available, there the BJP will try to take the rally through Muslim populated areas / shrines, etc., to create a communal riot. 3/n
