WE CAN’T DEPEND ON THE COURTS TO UPHOLD ROE V. WADE.

Why we need to flip state legislatures, a thread:
In 1973, the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that abortion was a constitutional right. At the time, abortion was illegal in nearly every state, but Roe mandated safe and legal abortion access nationwide.

So why are abortion rights still unequal? STATE LAWS.
Currently, abortion rights are codified in ONLY 13 states and Washington, D.C.

21 states have laws that can be used to ban abortion.

Heads up Pennsylvania. Your mail-in ballot will come with three components. The first is obviously the ballot itself. Make sure you fill it out. Here are some amazing women who deserve your vote.
The next bit is a nondescript secrecy envelope with “Official Election Ballot” printed on it.
The last is the outer envelope. Put your ballot and secrecy envelope in the outer envelope, then SIGN AND DATE this envelope. It won’t be counted without all of these pieces. wtae.com/article/theyre…

Today’s announcement in the Breonna Taylor case was horrifying. But not surprising.

It reveals a deeply-ingrained system that undervalues, ignores, and denies justice to Black women.
Black women, who make up just 13% of all women in this country, make up 20% of the women shot and killed by police.

And too often, their names don’t even make the news cycle.
Black women face often insurmountable barriers to accessing reproductive services such as birth control, abortion care, and prenatal care.
