Following the USPS court case right now.

Judge Emmet Sullivan is furious the postal service didn't comply with his order.
Postal service lawyer says only "13 or 14" ballots were found misplaced in its sweep.
Lawyers on the opposing side say there's a pattern here:
- USPS says it's already doing what the court wants.
- Judge says, "OK, let's put that in a court order."
- USPS says "Actually we did something a little different."
Context for all this from last night: businessinsider.com/us-judge-order…
Plaintiff lawyer: "If it's true that the government... has been implementing measures as of this weekend, why is it as of yesterday that the ballots are being delivered late?"
Big theme here: The USPS isn't telling the DOJ lawyer defending the case what's going on, and the judge and plaintiff lawyers both want to hear from actual USPS officials.
Sullivan demands to hear from a senior postal service official later in court today.

When DOJ lawyers, say they'll have to check on their availability, he explodes.

"You will have to tell him when he's available. It's up to the court when he's available."
Story coming soon.
STORY: Federal judge says he'll force USPS postmaster DeJoy to show up in court and explain what happened to mail-in voting

The court is going back in session now. I'll be providing updates.
Kevin Bray, the USPS official who oversees the 2020 election ballot process, is on the call.

He said he'll have updated records for mail-in ballots later today. businessinsider.com/federal-judge-…
One of the plaintiff lawyers says he's received a report that 3,000 ballots were found sitting on a dock in Greensboro. Bray said he'll have someone look into it.
Kevin Bray, the USPS official, is getting grilled on the precise timing of how mail-in ballots are handled.

He said that every ballot should have arrived at a processing facility by the end of the day it was cast.
The NAACP attorney has been grilling the postal service official for the past 30 minutes about how various forms of mail are handled. The USPS had a very detailed plan!
Update: The USPS says reports about missing ballots are inaccurate.

businessinsider.com/federal-judge-…
As the USPS has already said in court, the "300,000 unaccounted ballots" figure floating around is misleading.

It references ballots that bypassed the normal process to ensure they can be speedily counted. They're not "missing."

Here's my deep dive into the sexual misconduct allegations against Alan Dershowitz from one of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers. insider.com/alan-dershowit…
It's a knotty story, spanning several lawsuits and bar complaints going years back.

The whole thing has been a side-plot to the Epstein case, of course, but the renewed scrutiny will inevitably blow the whole thing up.

There's a lot at stake. Among those things are the reputations of Alan Dershowitz and David Boies, the two most important private attorney in the past quarter century of American history. insider.com/alan-dershowit…
