Child Soldier Threatens Violence In New Boko Haram Video

[THREAD]
Abubakar Shekau’s faction of Boko Haram, Jama’atu Ahlussunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram on Tuesday released a new video showing a child soldier threatening violence.
The latest video by the group is the first in which a child soldier is seen and heard talking while wielding a weapon.
In the five minutes video titled “Alwala’a Wal Bara’a” (loyalty and disavowal), the terrorist group stressed that it would continue opposing and waging war ..
against whoever is not on its way.

“Certainly, we will never retreat. We are different from you. You either repent or we kill you,” the little boy holding a pistol threatened.
According to a report which documented Boko Haram violations, the terror group had recruited no fewer than 1,385 child soldiers between 2017 and 2019.
The group uses the children mainly abducted during raids and mostly orphans as suicide bombers to attack civilian and other military locations.
On December 24, 2014, a 13-year old Zahra’u Babangida was arrested in Kano State, northwest Nigeria, trying to explode a bomb
strapped in her body.

The girl was arrested after two other girls exploded their hidden bombs in a market, killing at least 10 people.

Why Deepening Tension, Aggravating Insecurity May Trigger Insurgency In South-East Nigeria

It is difficult to miss the signs. Ominous signals continue to dog the path of peace in communities across the Southeast states of Nigeria.

THREAD humangle.ng/why-deepening-…
A strange mix of events is tugging violently at the fabrics of peace across the zone. And the elements at play appear determined to unravel an already fragile situation. It is akin to putting life flame on dry gunpowder. Image
There is ample evidence that the overstretched tension in the relationship between security agencies and the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, (IPOB), a group clamouring for an independent state of Biafra out of Nigeria, is already boiling over. Image

[THREAD]
On the night of Tuesday, October 20, Jerry O* witnessed scenes that seemed straight out of a movie.

Men of the Nigerian army fired live rounds at protesters holding up Nigerian flags and singing the national anthem in a Lagos suburb, the crack of gunfire drowning out ..
the demonstrators’ quaking voices. The sound followed Jerry as he ran from the spot where he was crouched, eyes catching motionless bodies and shells on the floor. It roared behind him as he escaped the bloodletting in the pitch-black night.

Two weeks later, Jerry is only

Gide, Zamfara Terror Leader, Gives Terms For Ceasefire

[THREAD]
Dogo Gide, a notorious leader of a violent armed group in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria says attacks on communities by armed groups will continue so long as the military continues to conduct air raids on his hideout.

In August, the Nigerian military intensified air attacks
in Zamfara and neighbouring state of Katsina, where armed bands had a field day pillaging communities and thereby created another major front for troops.
Gide has also denied having ties with the Boko Haram terror group or its breakaway factions and blamed the allegation on his
