The @realDonaldTrump and @GOP argument now requires throwing OUT votes that have literally already been counted and recorded.
I take a pretty dim view of Republican justices, but I believe even this is beyond Roberts and Gorsuch and maybe even Kav.
My reasoning for "maybe Kav" here is that Kav is a little punk follower with no principles but a desperate desire to impress his boys. His concurrence in the earlier PA case is the "sure I'll whip it out" side. But, if all the "cool" kids like voting again, he'll fall in line.
On the flip side: Thomas actively believes he's the only black person in America who is as smart as the last white person he talked to, and thus is the only black person who should actually get a vote on anything.
Alito just hates America, democracy, math, and nonwhite people.
It's too early to tell when Barrett will let her freak flag fly. Or what circumstances will make her go full crazy versus pretend reasonable. Does she want her first vote to be "let's throw away votes?" Maybe. But I don't know that yet.

Since people want to do the "faithless electors" thing again, let's recap:
* Court says states CAN ENFORCE electors to vote like the voters tell them.
* States who want to let electors vote their conscience needed to make that call BEFORE the election.
* None did.
Yes. Obviously, the Supreme Court can always say "You know what tho, we really want Trump to be President so actually anything you do to make that happen is cool by us."
That's always possible. But, I'm just saying that the GOP is not *supposed* to be able to do this.
The Courts can't help Trump now. His arguments are too weak, his deficit, too great. I don't believe there are 5 SCOTUS justices willing to burn it down to help him. @JoeBiden is in a strong position to fend off legal challenges.

I'm telling you these lawsuits are trash @neal_katyal is telling you these lawsuits are trash @PeteWilliamsNBC is telling you these lawsuits are trash. The 3 of us probably don't agree on whether the Earth has standing to sue Exxon (I say yes), but THESE TRUMP LAWSUITS ARE TRASH
Brian Williams: "When did the Democrats become a Whole Foods party in a nation I still insist is a Ralph's country, is a Piggly Wiggly country?"
... WHEN THE DEMOCRATS SUPPORTED THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT AND ALL THESE PIGGLY WIGGLY WHITE PEOPLE GOT PISSED AT SHARING!
Also, I'm not a Whole Food Democrat. I'm a Uber Democrat: BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE GETTING SHOT FOR DRIVING WHILE BLACK SO I TRY NOT TO DO IT UNLESS I HAVE TO.
Sorry, this is not the day to get pissed at this. I will have to fight this battle against white people for the next two years IF WE'RE LUCKY and I should conserve my strength. Let's go WAWA'S DEMS (or whatever racially coded storefront reference I'm supposed to not notice.)
Here's my closing argument for people who aren't sure if they should vote against Trump tomorrow: If you won't do it for yourself, please do it for someone else.
Maybe you don't think Covid is a threat, but other people will die, needlessly, unless we are led by the science...
Maybe you think your are getting a tax break, or some other bribe if Trump wins, but other people need stimulus and relief from this economic downturn.
Maybe your children will not be kidnapped and caged, but other people's children will be...
Maybe you don't agree with all of Biden's plans. Lord knows I don't. But Democrats have a theory of government that helps even the people who DON'T agree with them. Republicans have a theory that entire states should be left to burn if they don't vote Republican.
So... De Blasio's answer is basically that they're doing routine due diligence and vetting to make sure Steve Cohen is "allowed" to do business with the city of New York.
He won't say what, at all, they're specifically questioning Cohen about.
Now...
Cohen has a... past. I mean, he's billionaire hedge fund manager. There's a history there.
But, I think the problem is that if Cohen was going to do some kind of gentrification deal with the City, they'd absolutely let him. So I don't know why he can't buy the Mets.
I love Liz Warren, but we need things HAPPEN in the Senate in the first 100 days. And we already have a lot Democrats with problems screwing their courage to the sticking place
Having her replaced by a Republican governor, even temporarily, before those things happen, feels bad.
I think she'd be great at Treasury, but as I keep saying, FACTUALLY, despite the fact that few people seem to believe me, WE HAVE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT. And I don't even know that the Executive Branch is the most *important* in a world where Biden wins.
Sorry, I'm one of those people who believes that the biggest reason we don't have a public option already is that Ted Kennedy died in 2009.
I'm also one of those people who believes the Senate is, like, IMPORTANT AND STUFF.
