Heading to North Park Blocks in #Portland to check out this event for @villageportland that started around 2 p.m.
#PortlandProtest
Just arrived.
Rode past a ton of PPB in several cruisers and im walking towards the rally.
The crowd is currently listening to Indigenous chants.

I can't help but tear up a little.
We have an ASL interpreter!!!
Pardon my f'd up nails but I picked up this little pamphlet on BDS
We've got someone on the stage rapping to what's, honestly, a pretty killer backing track.
Kenneth from the National Lawyers Guild is doing a quick know-your-rights training
A man, refusing to wear a mask, is threatening to cough on people.
Some VERY tall security men have arrived to break it up.
It appears he's not leaving but everyone has moved away from "his COVID ass," as I just heard.
Grabbed a few pamphlets from @Symbiosis_PDX
The crowd of a couple hundred is listening to a speech by a woman who is a victim human trafficking.
"It was mutual aid that saved me, not the officers," she said
Now a round of applause of Multnomah County who passed a ballot measure to mandate preschool for all.
Several cars and trucks have loudly sped by in the last few minutes on two sides of the event.
I finally found my crew of @PDocumentarians and [who also happens to be fluent in ASL!] @Piggyboo_Playa
The march is getting organized
400-600 people here
Several cruisers with lights and sirens went by ahead
#DJLRAD is out
Well, I got my respirator out
We're merging with another protest at the waterfront
Actually going past it
Armed and banjo'd (2020)
Medium: photography
This protest lost a looooot of folks to the other one we passed
Were posted in front of a Count Every Vote event near the waterfront. Vibes are chill.
The protest in the street is joining the group at the waterfront Count Every Vote rally.
There's some arguing going on across the street
The man who drove his truck and brought speakers is pissed that nobody told him the end location
A group has split off — albeit a MAX train split them up — and are headed somewhere else.

@TheRealCoryElia has joined the crew finally
Windows and a door smashed at Lovely Rita
This has just been declared an unlawful assemnly
A vna just had windows smashed out
Being told to disperse to the west
Press and legal observers ordered to the sidewalk
Some sort of arrest was made it appears

It appears the man is having a mental health crisis and he's parked across the street.
The crowd has moved to another intersection

On my way to Revolution Hall here in #Portland with @TheRealCoryElia to check out what's going on tonight for the @villageportland.
Just arrived and there's a VERY healthy sized crowd of a couple hundred here.
It appears that a march is getting under way.

Hiyaaaa, I'm heading towards campus in a few for the @DailyEmerald to check out @Eblack_unity's "The Myth of Reverse Racism" protest and (assumed) march starting around 6 p.m.
Uhhh it's been an hour and it hasn't started yet but it appears they're getting prepared.

I'm here for the @DailyEmerald at @uoregon's Johnson Hall for a continuation of the last 24hr long occupation here.
It's 7 pm and the crowd isn't very large.
A round of applause for those chained in front of the doors.

Heading out in a few minutes to meet my @DailyEmerald colleagues for another night of #SpringfieldOregon protest reporting.
I'm here.

Not too many folks here on the protest side but the counter-protest across the intersection is sizeable.
