I don't think he will manage to hang onto the presidency at this point, but I do think most folks are refusing to contemplate what the next couple of months are going to look like. Not everyone is going to get to ride this out from a place of safety. There will be retaliation.
Which is why we wrote this: liftedvoices.org/2020/11/05/its…

And circling back to what to expect, there's a reason I keep sharing the things I've put together in the last week. It's because I did my best to create resources that I think people need right now, and I think this convo w @shane_burley1 was a needed one. truthout.org/audio/mass-pro…

Some folks are attacking leftists right now because it's their default move. They're not worth it y'all.
They expected to be celebrating a win already, so they feel the need to lash out at someone. Facts and reality aren't a factor, so rather than examining the strategies that got them here or focusing on voter suppression, many will wage tired, baseless, lazy attacks on the left.
There's no meaningful intervention that will halt this ritual, so it's best to just let those people have their tantrums. Focus on people who are being constructive and sharing useful information. The rest is noise. I know it's hard, but let's try to create our own coherence here

Before you bash an entire state as being worthless, terrible, or unworthy of democracy, please ask yourself what you've done lately to combat voter suppression in that state, or in general.
Sending love to BIPOC organizers who tried hard in states that will go to Trump due to voter suppression. Ppl are already erasing the cause, like always, which is how the GOP wants it. They are cancelling out shifting demographics w suppression while ppl blame the disenfranchised
People who are raging about Florida should be talking about the greatest act of voter suppression during this election cycle. The people of Florida voted to give over a million people with felony convictions a path to the ballot and the GOP stomped it out. propublica.org/article/in-flo…

Still awake. Currently thinking about how I should've started an only fans months ago to generate an emergency exit fund. 😂
Don't say I should do it lol. I don't have that kind of energy in my life.
If anyone feels inclined to drop a few coins in my GTFO if necessary fund, I would not refuse. Venmo: Kelly-Hayes-23

Rallied on Zoom with some friends and co-strugglers tonight. Many thanks to those who tuned in. It was recorded, so if y'all want to hear some #RemoveTrump testimonies that are about *us*, not Biden, these speeches may do you some good. facebook.com/hayeskelly/pos… Image
I was exhausted but eventually found my footing lol.
This event really hit me hard. I think partly because I am completely wiped out. The past week has been a marathon with the show and with all the organizing things. I am just so tapped out, and not a good tired.

As y'all know I've been working nonstop for the past week to crank out extra episodes of Movement Memos that might help folks ready themselves for what's coming. It started with folks wanting a follow up to this episode, which we didn't have time for. truthout.org/audio/searchin…
So I made a bonus episode where I walked folks through how to write a personal safety plan. I am so heartened by how useful people have found it. truthout.org/audio/planning…
In this episode @sarahkendzior and I broke down the authoritarian mechanics of what's happening. truthout.org/audio/arm-wres…

It's been an absolute marathon making extra episodes in the run-up to the election. Fortunately @anarchocatfan joined @truthout as a volunteer a while back, and has been rocking the show's sound quality. Shout out to my partner in crime who helps make all my work possible. Image
ICYMI we started making extra episodes of Movement Memos this week because a bunch of people were asking for a follow up to this piece, and with only two episodes left before the election, we just wouldn't have had time. truthout.org/audio/searchin…
So I created this episode where I kind of walked people through a writing exercise to help them write a personal safety plan. If that sounds intimidating, remember, there's a transcript to refer to. It's just a matter of ordering your thoughts. truthout.org/audio/planning…
