Social media can become very overwhelming very quickly. This is especially the case for S&C coaches wanting to make a name for themselves. I personally have become disillusioned by it many times for many different reasons.

However, there's hope. Social media coach realities 👇🏽

1)

Social media coach - "I read 2 research papers per day, I love to read, I get the highlighter out to ensure I take it all in"

Real life coach - "I probably should read more research papers but I find them very complicated & I don't know how to weed out the good from the bad"

2)

Social media coach - "I love my morning routine. I get up at 4:30, post a pic on Insta of my watch, read for 2 hours (see point 1), meditate for an hour, go to the gym (whole body, not split)"

Real life coach - "I drag myself out of bed in just enough time to do the basics"

Social media coach - "#Betterneverstops I work so hard, 16 hour days normally, I love the grind and am #blessed "

Real life coach - "I feel guilty for not doing enough, I feel guilty for not giving enough time to my wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/partner/parents/kids"

Social media coach - "I am on my 267th book of the year & I just love leadership & management books. Purest coaching books are for newbies"

Real life coach - "I probably should read more but fitting it all in (see point 3) is a struggle. At best I get a few pages before bed"

5)

Social media coach - "I have 12 side hustles that I crack on with in the evening"

Real life coach - "I am thinking about a side hustle because people talk a lot about it but I don't really know where to start or to even start at all."

Social media coach - "I have just got off the phone with my mentor (guru X) and feel so inspired. The road is clear, I just have to work harder (see point 3) to get the pot of gold"

Real life coach - "I don't have a mentor & I am not on a mentorship. What even are they?"

Social media coach - "I have just started my MSc/PhD and the next 3/4/5/6/7 years are going to be amazing!"

Real life coach - "I don't really want to go back to uni. I can't afford it but everyone seems to be doing it and I fear that I am getting left behind"

Social media coach - "I love reading stoic philosophy, its so deep and meaningful. Marcus Aurelius is my boy!"

Real life coach - "I don't really get stoicism. I thought Marcus Aurelius was the guy that died in Gladiator?"

Social media coach - "I love learning R (or other language of choice), its so much better than Excel & Google Sheets"

Real life coach - "Everyone's going on about R & coding but I have zero interest in learning it. Plus I have no time (see point 3&4) & quite like Excel
